Going for my 1st treatment today!

SO I’ve been lurking for a bit and decided to join.

I am going for my first LHR treatment. I am doing the ‘extended bikini’ area… I have a friend who just did his 1st t-shirt treatment and is currently shedding (he went about a month ago.

I’m skin type IV/V… dark hair and naturally tan. They are using a Yag machine (Coolglide CV/ Cutera) and I was told the setting would be 40j/20 on a 10mm space… I did have a small patch test done and didn’t have any issues…

Machine I believe (yag) is write for my hair and skin type but what about the setting. I’m looking forward to having it done.

Silly question also, over type do the dark spots lighten, from shaving I mean since hopefully I will be doing less of that and no more ingrowns …

thanks!

So I went for my first treatment and it wasn’t so bad. I did one treatment on my underarms and I am doing 6 treatments on my bikini line. I am doing extended so it goes in some. I am not sure what the settings were on the underarm but I believe they were higher than my bikini.

For bikini they actually did 40/20 on 10mm. I have a high threshold for pain so it was a lil’ annoying but not much more than a pinch or so. I do feel a lil velcro’ish there from the singed hair. I was told we may increase joules b/c it went to easy.

Next appt not until Mid-May.

Those are ok settings on a Yag. Why only one treatment on underarms?

The skin will start looking better with time, yes. This is in part due to the fact that you won’t be waxing and otherwise picking at it, so it will reduce ingrowns too.

The underarms were free s I figured why not.

That’s good to hear that over time my skin will look a lil better. I am prone to ingrowns so that’s music to my ears and I hate going to the beach looking bumpy there.

The follicles are beginning to come out on the hair that was a little longer. Yay!

I went for my second treatment on Saturday. Follicle/Hair came out during the treatment and there was slight irritation for about an hour. Now everything seems to be fine and waiting to see the results of this treatment.
