Gift for Girlfriend - Underarms (best method?)

Hello everyone!

This is my first post (I think). I am writing because as a gift for my girlfriend, I am going to pay for her permanent hair removal on her underarms. But I haven’t done a significant amount of research and I am looking for some advice. Is it best to do laser first, then electrolysis? Or just electrolysis? And as a side note if anyone wants to suggest someone in the Simi Valley/Ventura/Westlake area I would welcome the suggestion! Thanks for your time and advice.

Tom

I personally would do electrolysis only and I would check out Arleen Spratt 805-527-4886, but some would say otherwise. I just don’t see any cost advantage to the LASER then Electrolysis route, although some say any potential TIME savings may justify that rational.

While it is a wonderful thing for you to do for your girlfriend, make sure she wants this and can tolerate the treatments. I have had clients come in because someone else wanted them to do this - they were not motivated, and did not complete treatments.

Please read my story below. I’m in the LA area btw. I had this area done with laser and there is absolutely a huge time and cost advantage to getting laser treatments first. If her hair is dark and coarse, she can knock out 90-95% of the hair in just 5-6 ten-minute laser treatments.

Dr Hamilton in Woodland Hills has been recommended here before. Not sure if he has a laser for dark skin though in case she has that.

She is really excited for it - so that isn’t an issue.

She has light skin and dark brown hair… will that work for laser? Any other advice?

Thanks!

Yes, that is a good combination. Alexandrite like GentleLASE would be the best type of laser for her. That’s what Dr Hamilton has. I would recommend for both of you to read the FAQs in the link below. It’s best to know exactly how it works so you can make sure yourself that you’re getting the best results.

You should switch posting to the laser portion of this forum once she gets started. We’d love to follow her story.
