Getting ready to take the plunge...

Hello, everyone. I have been reading your posts for a few months now, and I cannot tell you how much it has helped to have others out there. I thank you.

After many months of research, I am ready to begin my electrolysis treatment. I would like to begin on my upper lip and chin and then go from there.

I just moved here to Raleigh and don’t know anyone so it will be difficult for me to get recommendations for a good electrologist. I’ve been doing independent research (websites, phone calls, interviews, etc.) but would love to know if anyone has any suggestions. I’ve been able to find 8-10 places in the area.

P.S. One of the places said the consultation costs money if you don’t end up receiving treatment there. Is this the norm?

I know and respect Myrtle as a person, but I have not had the pleasure of her work. I would start my search with her.

although the industry sandard is to give free consultations and perhaps some small sample treatment, many electrologists have chosen not to give any free consults and, or no free sample treatments. I have even heard of some who insist that the prospective client pre-pay for the consultation and sample treatment prior to booking the date, and those fees are non-refundable in event of a no show.

I regularly refer my clients that go to NC State or Duke to these 3 electrologists in your area:

Melissa Smith at Elite Electrolysis.

Dana Combopiano at Corlase (may actually be in Cary)

Thelma White at ABC’s of Skincare in Durham
