Hey everyone, booked my first treatment with harley medical group just to give it a go, im only getting a small area done for now just to try it out (naval to pubic line) if all goes well i will get my full chest & parts on my back done.
I am a steroid user and understand that this could effect my treatments and make my hair grow back, this is partly the reason im only getting a small area done first. I was going to wait until i was done with steroids to get treatments but i just cant wait any longer.
The woman said the laser she was using was an Apogee 500 and I believe this is a really good laser? She was very nice on the fone and not pushy to get a sale(she had the same attitude at the consultation back in february), she said that she would sell me one treatment and if i was happy after that and decided to buy a course of treatments for the area, she would nock the price i paid for one treatment off the price i would be paying for a full course.
I have mild scarring on the area i am getting treated, the scars are darker than the skin around them, will the laser be able to go over the scars without me being burned ?
This is a good machine.
Do you have to be on steroids? Is it for medication or for working out purposes? Steroids screw up your hormonal balance, so they can make lots of new hair grow. It depends on each person. They’re not healthy in general.
We can’t see you or the scar, so it’s hard to give you an answer. Let the clinic judge. Worst case, they cover it with something white during the treatment.
No I dont really have to be on them, it is for working out purposes, I know they are bad for me and I really shouldnt take them but bodybuilding is my hobby and i really dont want to go the natural route. I have been taken them on and off for about a year now and noticed no new hair growth, maybe slightly on my arms, ive just always been naturally hairy, it runs in the family!
Good to hear they will just cover it up, does this mean if there is any hair on the scarred area it wont be treated ?
Anything you cover up with white won’t be treated. I’m not saying that it won’t have to be treated. It may be just fine. They will be able to tell you for sure.
But yes, even if you remove the hair now, if you’ll restart steroids again, you may get a bunch of new hair and would require new treatments.
In that case I really hope they can go over the scars as i wouldnt like any areas to be missed, I realise i may grow new hair due to steroids however i havnt noticed any yet, if there has been it has been an unnoticeable amount and if that is the amount that is going to come through after i have had treatments, i will be happy as i can deal with a little hair just not as much as i have now, thanks for ur info!
