Hi,
Does anyone knows what are good settings for male beard on GentleYAG laser for skin type III? I had some treatments on the body with GentleLase years ago with 18mm/18J and had very good results. Also had GentleLase on the beard with 18mm/16J and 18mm/18J but only the neck shed, so I am going to try the YAG.
Thanks
How dense is the growth? Can you post a picture?

To me, you look darker than a skin type III but that must be the way the light is hitting your skin.
Your beard is definitely dense and coarse enough. If it was me, I’d stick with the Gentlelase on the beard. If you’re really adamant about wanting a GentleYAG, since you can handle super high settings on the lase, you can go very high on the YAG (I don’t know too much about YAG settings, but I would assume you could go near maximum). I’d still say you should stick with high power on the GentleLase
My problem with GentleLase is that even at high setting cannot produce shedding everywhere. Especially on the chin and mustache areas (they produce minimal shedding). That’s why I would like to try the YAG, since it goes deeper. I would like to have shedding everywhere, so I could stop after few treatments. I would like to have uniform reduction, not a complete removal. Thanks
Even with a YAG, it can be hard to make shedding happen on those two areas. Those are very difficult areas for laser to treat. You may want to take a look at this:
I can tell you from my experience, I don’t always remember the shedding but I remember the hair seeming to grow back less each time.
