I told my laser practitioner about the tan I will get from my trip. I decided to wait 10-12 weeks when I return for it to fade as much as possible. She told me if by that time I still have some colour I can use the yag laser she has for one treatment until i lighten up enough to use the gentlelase again. Do you think this is a good idea? This would be my 4th treatment on back/shoulders/arms. I am having my 3rd right before I leave while I am still pale. I am a type 3 skin. My settins so far were 18mm/20j and she said she started going 15mm/24j cause my hairs are getting finer? How is that settings?
If you hairs are getting finer and she wants to use 15/24 on you with Gentlelase, then I would not use a Yag on you because the finer hairs are very hard to pick up with a Yag laser, even at low pulse and high energy. I would wait till you lose your tan and go back on the Gentlelase.
if i was doing a max setting with 18mm at 20j would that mean i should be able to max out at 15mm as well? so ask to go 15mm/30j?
That can only be answered by your Laser Specialist. However, make sure your tan has faded before you proceed with high settings.
