Gentlelase Pulse Width

This is probably a stupid question, but so be it:

I thought I remember reading on this forum that the Gentlelase automatically has its pulse width set at 3ms which can’t be changed (correct me if that’s wrong). Anyways, I had a treatment with gentlelase a little while back, and it was 18mm spot size and 16J, but the PA mentioned something about how she was setting something (which I thought was the pulse width) to 40ms and that she will attempt to gradually bring it down to 20ms. If the pulse width is fixed at 3ms, then what exactly is being set at 40ms?

Okay that makes sense, but I’m nearly 100% sure she used the GentleLase (the machine said that and when I called, they said they had a GentleLase, not GentleLase Pro). The machine also looks kind of old haha, so I’m still am unsure what this 40ms was.

EDIT: I looked it up – it is definitely a GentleLase.

Maybe it was under cooling, I’m not sure. I’ll check the next time I go. I got the name of this place from someone on this forum and from someone else on the cosmetic enhancement forum, and I went once and was quite happy with them. I’d actually be quite surprised if she’s not trained properly since based on what people on this forum and others have said (and the fact it’s a dermatologist’s office so I doubt they would risk it for malpractice lawsuits and what not). There’s also a chance I might have misheard her.

As long as she’s using 18mm spotsize and 16J+, it looks like I’ll have some good results
