GentleLase 3 weeks after Lightsheer - seems good

I had my GentleLASE treatment today and we pretty much just re-did the whole lightsheer treatment. Everything reacted too - and it was as strong as ever, so I honestly have to wonder if the lightsheer even did anything. I mean, I had 100% of my usual reaction…wherever there’s hair - I get a puffy spot for a day or so. It looks disgusting but I know there will be results. It was as if I never even had any hair removal 3 weeks ago… it all reacted like it always did. (I took a pic but it’s gross so I’ll post it if you want to see but… it just looks like some kind of skin disorder w/ all the puffy spots)

I told my laser tech about the issue mentioned here that hair can be stimulated on men and she said she hasn’t seen it in 10+ yrs…with the right settings. She says she turns away women with darker skin for this reason, and also that my epilight could have stimulated the hair growth before I even came to her but she doesn’t know for sure. She said she’d do my shoulders at $70/hr and can usually get a decent amount done each session (she uses the multi-something method) but she just said it’s tedious and really something I’d have to think about - if I want to sit through all that.

She told me her spot size / energy and now I think I forgot. She has the newest GentleLase that was apparently 150k or something…they upgraded last year sometime bc the new machine is more modern looking & also stronger. She said she has changed spot sizes over the years as the hair has become finer (using a smaller spot size as this happened - and then going to a medium size as there was a mix of fine and coarse)…she knew all about the “cone shape” issue. With energy, I think she said the max was 30 but since Im going away in 2 weeks and once had a few brown spots on the tan-line border on my mid-arm with 30 one time, she only wanted to use 26 or today. The spot size - I think - was 16 or 18…if that sounds right. I should’ve just written it down when she said it but I figured i’d remember naturally…

Did she shed any light on the fact that you have been having treatments for so long but haven’t achieved permanent results?

I understand that you are aware that you’re using it as a better substitute to other temporary hair removal methods but what does she have to say about this? Surely she realises it’s not working nor will be, for permanency.

Please keep all your posts in one thread so we can easily follow the story.

30J is max on 15mm. 20j is max on 18mm, so that couldn’t have been it.

What costs $70/hr? Laser or electrolysis?

Oh sorry - I didn’t want that “furious with my lightsheer…” to keep coming up (even though I edited it to say angry - it didnt really change). I seemed a little too dramatic…

Electrolysis is $70/hr w/ her. Not sure if that is good or what… but that’s what I’d have to look forward to.

Stopp- yeah she knows i will probably never lose the shoulder hair with LHR… she told me it might never happen & she said some guys just come in and get treated 2x a year and don’t get any additional growth but like to just to laser vs. waxing. I’m basically in that category. The office is charging incredibly reasonable prices these days (literally 1/2 of what I paid in 2007 - but also I do have less area to cover).
