Four years after laser hair removal

Hi,
I’m new here. I’ve been reading different threads, getting back up to speed on hair removal stuff.
About four years ago I did some laser hair removal, which was done with a Gentlelase. I had treatments on my legs, rear end, arms, abdomen, bikini area, and face. I have pcos so there were a lot of areas that I wasn’t comfortable with.
I stopped after two treatments to those areas because I was broke lol. I would’ve liked to continue.
The results I noticed were much thinner hair on my legs and arms. My arms have about 20% of what they once did. It’s actually kind of funny how patchy it is. My legs just have thinner hair all around, and there is some patchiness. I didn’t see a difference on my abdomen or bikini area. I can’t say anything about my face because I now use Vaniqa.
The results have lasted since I got those treatments 2 years ago. The areas I mentioned are no different now than they were a few months after treatment - there is less hair now than before the treatments. Hair levels have not increased, over four years, which I take as a very good sign.
I’m planning to go back to do additional laser hair removal now that I have some money again. I am thinking of still going with someone who operates a Gentlelase. I’m in the DC area and I have a few candidates that I’ve identified. I plan to go to a couple of consultations to see who makes me feel comfortable, and of course to compare pricing, since it’s been so long.
If I can answer any questions about my experience, let me know. I’m sorry that I don’t remember the settings used by the tech for my treatments four years ago.

Hi Khaleesi. I was curious to know if you are being treated for your PCOS and how that is going. (I think you mentioned PCOS on another post).

If you got somewhere good with only two laser treatments, then imagine how good it can get with a full package. If the hairs are still coarse and dark, then that would greatly increase your success this time around.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Dee,
Yes, I’m being treated for PCOS. I am on metformin, spironolactone, and birth control pills. I think it’s really important to make sure you’re being treated, otherwise no hair removal method is going to be reliable.

I think you’re right - when I start doing laser again I’m sure that I’ll be able to get to a great result with several treatments. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> I’m looking forward to it!
