Michael,
These are some close up/detail pics of my client who flies in every few months from europe. I’d like to get your take on some of the texture and scarring issues. It’s now been about ayear or so since she last saw the electrologist who caused this scarring “in blend” Of particular note is the white line on the left side of upper lip and the texture/lines at the corners of both sides of lip. She’s currently looking into fractional laser treatment over in europe, I’m thinking this might be something she may want to look into whole she is in canada. The texture ont he chin really gets my attention when I’m doing treatments on her. Both sets of pictures here have had recent electrolysis performed arount these ares by myself so there is unfortunately some inflamation anyway
Oh dear … classic "raggidies" indeed.
Of course she can try different methods … but there is going to be permanent damage … and that’s a real tragedy. *Term used by Dr. Schuster for this electrolysis-caused condition.
If i can ask a bit about this? What are they? The raggidies? Is it fluid trapped under the skin? Is it layers of wound collagen?? It is permanently raised hypertrophic scars or keloid scars? What actually is the raggadies compromised of, and is there a treatment or will they “flatten out” over the 12-18 month healing period?
Also to the op… has this condition healed at all for the client over the year or has that appearance remained unchanged over the year?
scar tissue from overtreatment in ragged lines…Though i think Mike’s reference was a tribute to Scheuster a mix of Ragged and Tragedy . This client was severely overtreated in another country with an electrologist of questionable training and skill.
Scarring like this takes about a year to show up. What you see here was taken about 14 months after they treated her. Some of what you see ( obvious stuff) is inflamation from treatment that day or the day before.
Would you anticipate microneedling or laser resurfacing would break up that scar tissue or is it something that will flatten over a period of time?
That’s part of what we are trying to determine. She’s already had some microneedling. The concensus is there will always be some visible damage, but to what extent we dont know. Fractional laser treatments will also be tried, but part of the issue is they are in Czech republic much of the year and one here for a month or so 3-4 times a year . I’m not thinking I’m going to recommend they do fractional laser except here in canada.
I’m also unsure what prospects there may be for legal recourse in the czech republic.
I hope there is a solution to clear it up for her. I have a bit of that myself and I’m sure there are a lot of other people who are members here who have them. I wasn’t aware there is a legal recourse. Is there any recourse in the United States or is that just protection in Canada? It really stinks when you pay a lot of money for electrolysis treatments and then have to pay even more money for resurfacing treatment to fix the damage your licensed electrolgist caused.
What Seana said is totally accurate. When I see this I literally (in the true meaning of the word) get sick and get a headache!
Big day for me tomorrow … heart specialist for some very troubling symptoms. I’ll keep you all informed. When you’re old you can expect this; but it’s never welcome.
VP ,
The legal recourse method of regaining damages is via the civil courts. I’m pretty sure you americans are more familiar with them than we would be in canada. You have to have good evidence of your claim for damages and be able to prove it in court. Then after all that, you might just have a paper judgement, of potentially no value…so…there’s that.
Mike, good luck with the heart specialist.
Seana
Hi Seana,
For any noticeable improvement for your client, a resurfacing laser would be best. Either an Erbium or a CO2 fractional laser. We used them for smoker’s lines when I had my clinic. Results were amazing. These lasers are also used for ice pick acne scars. Nothing will get 100% better, but a 30 to 50% improvement could be expected. Regular Fraxel (which I also had) was used more for aesthetic texture improvement. This is scars. She needs the big guns and a good plastic surgeon.
I am really sorry she had such bad results especially since I use the Blend on my clients with wonderful results. It is always sad to see such bad work.
