Fisker TS-1 for DIY thermolysis?

Hi there! I’ve been lingering on these forums for quite some time before creating an account (what great info you all have!). My wife and I have been learning with the One Touch. We’re looking for the next step using a blend machine, but I’m not finding any for <$700. However, I found a local seller getting rid of their Fisker TS-1. It looks really old, but I’ve read conflicting info that sometimes that doesn’t matter as much as training, and sometimes it is a big deal!

The person selling the TS-1 for $500 is willing to spend some time training both my wife and I so we can work on each other. Our goal is to work on my wife’s leg and arm hair, and that she can work on my beard. My wife would be the one doing the work primarily because we both hate my beard haha!

So here’s the question: Would this TS-1 be a good or terrible choice for first time thermolysis, and should we absolutely avoid thermolysis at all costs before getting skilled with blend, or if we’re comfortable with galvanic could we hop right in? We would start with experimenting in random places on my leg or chest (I have a ton of hair ughhh) and I don’t mind a few tiny scars in those areas along the way as they’ll be hidden behind mountains of hair anyway.

Any help or advice would be great before we take the plunge, thanks!

that’s a ther, molysis only machine, a really old one at that, and i wouldnt do it.
Someone posted a CLEO capable of blend here a couple days ago…maybe inquire?
I dont recommend thermolysis for DIY because as a DIY’er your insertions are inherently inaccurate, and that combined with sideays pressure and thermolysis current can cause cuts nicks and burns that yes can lead to scarring… Blend usually uses a lower intensity of thermolysis so there is less risk.
Thermolysis as well the success is very operator skill dependant so that is anothe reason I dont recommend thermolysis to novice electrologists.

Thanks! I found the post and messaged them :+1:
