I’m soon to have my first hair removal session for both full legs.
I’ve found a clinic I do like, run by a very experienced lady who has been in the business for many years and used to be the clinical nurse specialist and national UK trainer for Candela. So I’m sure she knows her stuff!
However, I am worried she doesn’t want to use a high enough setting on me.
My skin type is I, maybe II, and my hair is dark. I’ll be being treated with a GentleMAX with an 18mm head with a pulse width of 3ms. But I know they want to treat me on 14J, which I’m worried won’t be high enough. After my test patch my skin was totally fine, not even red. The area is now as hairy as the rest of my legs, although I know that is to be expected.
I emailed and asked to have my first treatment on 16J, but the lady said, “We will assess the settings when we see you and start at the correct fluence for you - please don’t concern yourself too much about the laser parameters, as we will be looking for the correct clinical endpoint to treatment.”
I’m pretty sure this means she wants to stick to 14J.
Is this ok? What should I doooo?
