First time electrolysis- plucking question?

Hi, sema! I can tell you- there is nothing to be afraid of, if you have a good electrologist. Ask them tons of questions, I did. Now that I’ve started, I want to go every day. It’s SO empowering and exciting! There is some stinging and some pressure/heat, but nothing that a little meditation won’t cure. Just relax and go for it!

Today was appointment #2. So far I have had very little reaction, although we went for 75 minutes today as opposed to yesterday’s 30, and I’m a little more red than I was yesterday. We are slowly working our way to a full clearance, but I’ll tell you, after not shaving for several days (I usually shave 1-2 times a day AND used to pluck the chin area incessantly) I am starting to get a sense of how much hair there actually is. It’s a little unnerving, but at least I’ve started the process of eliminating it! She does seem to want to “skip around” on different areas of my face, we did some left cheek work today. I think her reasoning is that it’s less irritating to the skin that way, but part of me just wants to know, okay, we have a first full clearance on the right cheek, let’s move on to the right jawline/neck, etc. I don’t know. I will say that I paid very close attention to the “tweezing” sensations I was complaining of earlier-- they were very mild today and barely noticeable. I don’t have another appointment until Monday, so I was able to come home and shave most of my face tonight which felt WONDERFUL. I might even let my guy kiss me tonight, who knows? Hahahah! Anyways, I just thought I’d bring you all up to date. Thanks again for all the support, everyone- and hope you’re all doing well!

This is such a relief to read! I have read horror stories about electrolysis scars/ingrown hairs so i am encouraged by your experience!! Thanks for sharing!

i just hope to find someone equally as good in my city!!

Glad your second appointment went well!! Are you gonna share any before/after photos?

Kate, good luck finding someone!

Kitty, you couldn’t pay me to post any before photos, but I’ll be happy to post some gorgeous afters!

Just make sure that you actually TAKE BEFORE pictures. you will need them to accurately track your progress.

There is nothing worse than someone who says, “All the hair came back!” or “I don’t see ANY progress” six months into a program, when a simple BEFORE picture would plainly show a 30% to 50% reduction
