First session - brazilian

Hi there,

So as the title suggests, I had my first brazilian session exactly a week ago. I know I need to wait a few more weeks to see the full extent of the shedding but I’m already concerned that a lot of areas either were missed or not affected for some reason. It was pretty immediately apparent which areas took the most - the hair never really grew back in, it just formed pepperspots which are now falling out. The other areas, on the other hand, have just been growing normally. One such area is the ENTIRE inner area (I don’t want to get too graphic but I’ll just say it - the outer labia). I asked the technician after if she had done this area just to make sure (she went really fast) and she said she had.

So is it possible that this area is harder to treat for some reason? Should I ask her to use a higher setting next time? Or could she have somehow skipped it entirely? Should I ask them to retreat those areas if nothing has happened in two weeks? (I’m using a groupon - I know, I know, not the best scenerio - and even though it’s supposed to be unlimited sessions for a year I’m a little nervous about requesting this.)

FYI, she used gentleLASE on 14j and I’m a skin type I-II (very fair irish skin with some freckles, coarse dark brown hair on the area treated).

Thanks in advance for your help.

It’s too early to judge. Please wait 3 full weeks. Shedding often doesn’t even start until day 10.

What was the spot size used with 14J? Can’t tell much with just the joules.

Thanks! I’m trying to be patient but it’s hard, haha. I thought the spot size on that machine was fixed at 188mm? I’m not entirely sure what it was otherwise.

Adding to my original post: I realized the areas that are shedding had been waxed six weeks prior whereas the others hadn’t. Could that make a difference?

18mm is the largest spot size on this machine. It’s not fixed. It could be 12mm, 15mm etc. The pulse width is what’s fixed at 3ms.

I won’t comment on the waxing because it’s not relevant at this point. We can’t judge anything until it’s been 3 weeks.
