First clearance complete

Hello, I posted on this forum not too long ago with questions about electrolysis on the neck. I am a 19 year old male.

So I finally took the step and got the front and back of my neck cleared. It took about 10 hours and I know it is a long process but for the moment I am happy with what was done.

I was now thinking of doing my chest (I have the time and money for it) and most important I didn’t touch the hair on my chest for the last 4 months. My electrologist says it could take about 15 hours to clear the chest and abdomen. This sounds good for me and I asked her if it is possible to clear every 3 months according that I don’t touch the hair in between treatments. She says she has never heard of this method. I asked her also if it is possible to kill a anagen hair the first time according that the insertion was good and the hair was not plucked. She answered yes but she said I should not count on this because it occurs only on a few hairs. I tried to consult other electrologists in my area to have their thoughts on this. None of them has ever heard of the 3 clearances. I feel a bit lost because this method would be the best for me taking in mind that I don’t care growing my chest hair for 3 months. One of them says I won’t loose nothing for trying it and she is willing to do 3 clearances but she repeats that she has never heard of it.

I know this questions has probably been asked a couple of times but could someone please give me his opinion on this.

Thank you guys

Somewhat universally, electrologists stay in their own little world. They get into a routine and never seek out anything different. Actually, the mission of the AEA is ostensibly addressing this issue. The profession lost a LOT when “Hair Route” stopped publication; now there is no objective resource.

The “3-clearance strategy” was first documented my first book … in 1995! Yeah, “new information” for sure. Electrologists don’t know about these issues because few ever read anything once they are finished with school and in practice.

Since you are 19-years-old, I would assume that your chest pattern looks like this: 1) a center patch, 2) hairs on the nipples, 3) a line of hair down the belly. Also, most of the chest has “lighter longer, and small, hairs.”

If this is what you look like … HOLD ON! You have at least another 5 or 6 years for your chest pattern to fully develop. I mean, you will witness these “lighter-longer” hairs become “large-dark” hairs. It normally takes until age 25 - 30 for the full pattern to establish itself.

If you remove the patch in the center of your chest … and it WORKS! … What will you have in 5 years? You will have a chest pattern with a “hole” in the middle! Yikes!

Talk to your electrologists about this and have her establish the time-line for development of your chest pattern: this is somewhat predictable. (Somebody has this in their book … I wonder who?)

Thank you for your answer michael
The hair of the “center patch” is a bit coarser but I have hair all over the chest up to the collar bone. In my abdomen it is the same thing, the trail in the middle is coarser but I have medium vellus on both sides. I got my first chest hairs at age 16. Maybe I can try posting a picture.
Anyways, thank you for your answer it is very appreciated.

There is my chest and abdomen. I am aware that some new hairs may come out until I am 21-25 but I think 75% of my chest hair is out, what do you think ? And for the light hair as you said, yes I have some of them on the upper chest where hair is less noticeable on the sides but if they are killed they wont have the opportunity to become bigger and coarser. But for the few spots that are completely hairless I have to agree with you that some hair will appear in those areas.

I would go for one clearance (estimate: 25 - 30 hours, and could be done in a week). Then, leave it alone for 3 - 6 months and see if you like this look … with 50% reduction. I think it would probably work well for you.

Others will give you their opinions based on how they work.

Given what I’m seeing I would say more belly hairs … and shoulder and back hairs will make their début in a few years.

Who? YOU!!!. I call them my Vademecum about electrolysis.

Odd … looks like my post was removed; the post was there yesterday. I was probably being too specific on the treatment options? Let me think about how I can re-state what I want to say.

Well Jossie, you got me looking up a word today! “Vademecum.” Nice

Okay … let’s see if this flies:

I would only do one clearance and then see what that looks like 4 - 6 months after the clearance. You might get the look you want and not risk the “patchy look” when surrounding hairs get bigger.

If possible try to do the “one clearance” within a limited time-frame, i.e., cleared off swiftly, not months of treatments (my “big bang” theory of hair removal). Once an area is clear, do not go back over it until ALL of it is cleared ONE time (only). Get an unambiguous time estimate from your zapper (in actual HOURS).

I hope this one “flies?”

No, your post wasn’t removed, Michael?
