Had my first electrolysis appointment yesterday. I’ve been getting laser done on my chin area and have now made the switch to electrolysis to finish my work since the hair is more fine and sparse.
All went well. Only did 15 minutes to start since I wanted to see how my skin would react. She concentrated on the front and sides of the chin since she felt those hairs were more noticable. I have an appointment in a week and we’ll tackle the underside, then I’m sure she’ll want to see me in for longer sessions I just have to get used to it first! lol
I was noticeable red for 1.5 - 2 hours, some swelling and itchiness. I did some cold compresses to help reduce the redness. I am happy with the work done. Today my skin looks a little bumpy, a couple look like tiny pimples but very small, only I would notice. I’ve been keeping up with the witch hazel and making sure I’m not touching the area.
It wasn’t too painful, some areas were more sensitive than others (like along the jawline). I’m confident she’ll do a great job with me
So, day 5. My skin looks good, the redness is all gone, I have 3 tiny scabs and my skin officially looks back to normal!
The major redness was gone within a few hours. I had a little residual redness around the follicles for a few days, but only something I would notice, very minimal.
Quite happy about this, excited for my next appointment which is next week!
I’ve had 3 appointments now. The first two were only 15 minutes long, the third was 30 minutes.
It’s going well. my chin (front and underside) is cleared and we’ve started on the sides of my face.
My skin is reacting pretty well. I get very few scabs, and when I do it’s usually on chin area.
Just wondering - the underside of my chin - the follicles get really red and inflammed, much longer than any other part of my face. Is this area normally more sensitive than others?
There are many reasons the underside of the chin could be like this. The angles of insertion down there rarely are co-operative, one may have more sweat and friction in that area, and so on.
At any rate, you see how easy it is to get this under control and keep it at bay, until you end your troubles for good.
