Finding an electrologist in Spain

Hello all. I’m new to this forum, so apologies if you’ve seen this question many times. (I searched the archive but met no success.) I’m travelling from the United States to Sevilla, Spain this fall, and I’d like to continue my electrolysis while I’m there. If any of you can recommend an electrologist in the area, that would be ideal, but I know that’s a bit unlikely.

What I’d really like to know is, what’s the best way to find an electrologist in a foreign country where I can’t get one recommended to me? The IGPE doesn’t have any members in Spain. Are there any other reputable international organizations? I’m seeking someone who uses disposable probes and the blend method; is there anything else I should look for?

Also, a kind of random question: does anyone know the Spanish word for “blend”?

Thanks a bunch, and sorry for going on so long.

We do have a poster here from Murcia Spain. I don’t know how close that is to where you are going to be.

If you use the search feature of the site and put in the word Spain, you will at least find posts by Franturel, I will look for her contact info.

She would at least be able to tell you how to search for electrologists in Spain.

You should also know that the American Electrology Association actually has international membership. I don’t know that their web site allows search of the international membership, but if you call their office, someone may email you a list, or phone you back.

The truth is the so called International Guild is a shell of an organization these days. What little membership they still have is not even accurately represented on their web site due to peculiarities of how they decide who is listed on the web directory.

Hello Reanne. I am an electrologist and Registered Nurse in Spain. I use the “blend method” the most of the time (in Spanish “blend” is “blend”). I also use disposable probes, apilus sx-500 machine (an excelent machine) and a stereomicroscope for a better and more accurate insertion. I have my office in Lorca, a nice city in the SouthEast of Spain. Lorca belongs to Murcia’s province. I think it is 400 kilometres away from Sevilla.

It is difficult to find a good electrologist in Spain because here the electrology is not regulated. Everyone can do electrolysis. Therefore it is more difficult find one good. Although there are some electrologists very good. Here, only a few electrologists know the blend method. Thermolysis is the most known method.

There is a association of electrologists in Spain but it has not many members and the most of them are using laser too.
I don’t know if some electrogist in Spain belongs to any international organization. At this moment I am preparing to pass the CPE exam in the USA, perhaps the next year.

If you have any further questions please let me know. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
I also can get in contact with you by e-mail.

Sincerely,
