Finally have hope with Arlene Batz!!!

I just wrote a review on Yelp for Arlene, and somehow when I read it back it still doesn’t seem to convey enough how grateful and encouraged I am after starting electrolysis with her at the end of September last year…I have wrote on here before about the permanent scars i have from being burned twice by laser treatment…and then the 3 YEARS I spent doing electrolysis where I had almost no improvement in the hair and was left with pitting and hyperpigmentation…then thanks to this wonderful site, I found Arlene and started going to her…it has only been about 4 months and I already see a decrease in hair and the thickness of it…also, the hyperpigmentation I got from the previous electrolysis has started to fade because I’m finally being treated by someone who knows what they’re doing and does it so well…I finally have hope!!!

P.S. thanks to this site for pointing me in the right direction.

It is good to have someone like you to tell the world that we are not kidding when we say that you can’t just throw a dart into a telephone book (hmm, I think I have to update that idiom to “click I’m feeling lucky on Google”) and find electrolysis treatment that meets a certain standard. Once you find someone good, you see just how large the gap between practitioners can be.

This is why we tell everyone to get as many consultations and sample treatments as possible before settling in with someone to do your work, as the usual human tendency to just go with the first person who can fit them in their schedule on the day he or she calls to book an appointment is not a very good plan.

Ditto me in on what James said and good job Arlene!.

Wildebeest, have you drawn any comparisons in regard to epilator used by your former electrologist and Arlene’s set up? After skill, tools used can make a huge difference in skin outcome, speed and sensation.

I love Arlene! She is really a good electrologist. She works fast and the result is permanent hair removal! I love her not only as an electrologist but as a person!! She is awesome!!

I think I’m living in the wrong state LOL.

Great to see positive views too!

Thank you.
I appreciate your kind words.
Not only are there great electrologists, there are great clients too.

The great clients:
follow aftercare instructions or discuss alternative aftercare
create a treatment schedule and follow it
show up for their appointments and if they are unable to, they call to reschedule
make good on bounced checks
ask their electrologist questions and discuss their concerns regarding treatment
educate themselves enough to distinguish between good and bad electrolysis
and for me, it is an honor when the client trusts my judgement during those critical first few months of treatment when I determine what electrolysis techniques to use

Anyone have anything to add to the list?

You’re welcome, Arlene. And Dee, I’m not sure what brand, etc of machine my previous electrologist had but I know sometimes even if she said it was on the highest level, I would feel nothing, and sometimes she would say she set it low and it would burn… she only had a magnified mirror with a light that flickered on and off quite a bit so she was always missing hairs or barely putting the needle in…her tweezers were also dull and she would dig into my skin and pinch me a lot to try and get at hairs (which would always break off instead of sliding out…she would tell me to go home and tweeze the hairs myself if i can because the root was already “zapped”…yeah, it’s hard to forgive myself for wasting all that money, time, and skin damage to someone who now seems so obviously bad at what she does…it was only after this website that i realized how bad she was and moved on to Arlene)

Wildebeest’s story does make me wary- there’s hardly any electrolysists around my area- if there are they seem to be more connected to Beauty Salon places and its hard to determine if its worth going there or not. That’s why I like reading the stories here- both positive and negative. Of course right now I am not able to do anything due to some finance emergencies recently :(. Plus some days I feel like I am in a bit of a wasteland where I am lol (In more ways than one not just this subject). Hoping maybe to move to Washington (the state not city) some day in the near future…

I just am glad to see great professionals here and posters willing to talk about their own experiences.

Maybe the needle holder of the epilator did not work properly?

How ever could that be? You live in a licensed state!

I agree with your words Arlene. Just add to your list, good client can actively participate in treatment. Helping the electrologist to keep the skin taut, you help yourself and your pocket.

By the way Boy, your hand and fingers looks great 4 months after a single clearance.

Josefa, is it a thigh area to being taut on the photo?

No Ekade, it is the stomach.
