fighting insurance

I am in the process of seeing if insurance will cover my elctrolysis. So far, I have contacted my endocrinologist and he said he would gladly write a note for me to my insurance compnay, but would like me to call my insurance company before hand and make sure that they will accept it.

My hair problem is not due to hormone imbalance though, it must just be genetic, so Ihope insurance will cover it.

I have read past postings about the industry precident and that they have to pay if prescribed by a doctor, but what if the insurance co. still says no. How do I go about fighting it or telling them that they have to pay? I am not too knowledgable when it comes to dealing with any sort of legalities.

Is there anything else that I should know when trying to fight it or any tips from anyone who has?

Thank you!
