Hi,
I have few questions and i’ll be greatfull to have some answers.
1- can the test patch on fine hair determine if the hair will be coarser? or it’s only for safty reasons?
2- can i safly use 30j with 15mm if i used 20j with 18mm without any side effects? (GentleLase)
3- i’ve read here many times that you should be using atleast 16j with 18mm (GentleLase), otherwise you’ll be undertreated… what if they’re using 15mm what’s the minimum fluence should be used? ofcourse if the skin can handle it.
4- if they’re using 5ms,21j,12mm with Nd-Yag, should these sitting be enough to kill the hair folicle? or i’ll be undertreated? (skin type V with normal hair)
no, it will not be accurate. it’s not an immediate reaction. also, the problem is that the finer hairs that are not noticeable at all or not even there may be activated and start growing. what area are you talking about? if you’re female, this is only an issue on the face, especially if you’re not a type III and lighter and lower settings are used. other areas should be fine.
this is not something one can predict. your clinic who can see you in person should decide this.
14j on 18mm and up is fine on GentleLASE. what is the reason that you want to decrease the spot size in the first place? if you use 15mm, the max is 30j instead of 20j, so the clinic should try to adjust settings proportionally. once again, your skin needs to be tested. if you can get treated close to the max without side effects, then that’s great.
21j is pretty low on a Yag, even wih 5ms pulse. If you’re a skin type V, you shouldn’t be considering GentleLASE at all as it will burn you at effective settings. You need a YAG, such as GentleYAG or Coolglide.
1- i know that it’s not an immediate reaction, i’m talking about like 6 or 8 weeks post sission. or it doesn’t really matter? and yes i’m talking about the face (female), i know that electrolysis is the best for the face but laser is my only option for now.
3-
when the hair get finer.
4- 12mm,5ms,21j is the highest setting with there Yag machine…
what about 12mm, 10ms 47j, is it enough?
for your skin type, you need a YAG laser because others will burn you at high enough settings. Getting treatments on fine hair on your face with your skin type is not a good idea, even if it is the only option. You’re going to create a bigger mess than what you started with. I wouldn’t risk it if it were me and I wouldn’t recommend it to you either. YAGs are not good on fine hair either and that is your only option. if elecrolysis is not an option at all (why?), then you should stick to temporary methods for now until it is.
yes, those settings sound fine. however, find a technician who you trust. they can see you in person and they should be determining settings.
