Female back

This is a very embarrasing issue for me and I’ve been kind of scared to post this, but I desperately need help.

I’m 23 years old and I have had fine dark hair on my back since the age of 11 or 12. I have hair in other areas too, but this bothers me the most. It’s not thick like a man’s back but it’s still noticable. I’m guessing it’s pretty rare for a woman to have hair on her back? I can’t find many posts on this forum from girl’s who have had their back done.

I just want it gone and I’m tired of all the ridicule and embarrassment. I’ve been seeing an electrologist for a few months and she’s doing an amazing job on my face. The only reason I haven’t talked to her about this is because I assume she would think it’s too much work. Can anyone help me get an idea of what kind of treatment schedule I’d need? I’m happy to post pictures if necessary.

There aren’t any other skilled electrologists in my city besides the one I’m currently seeing. I’m happy to save up some money and travel if there’s anyone in Australia that can help me.

Firstly it’s not rare for females to have hair covering the back. Usually it will be quite fine and short with stronger darker hair towards the base, or women with a fair complexion can have very dense blonde hair.
Many women are not concerned about this at all. However genetics, hormones, temporary methods of hair removal can have an adverse impact on the hair making it more obvious.

Christine O’Connel should be able to point you in the right direction in regards to finding an experienced skilled electrologist in Australia.

Thanks for the reply mhawkes

I have spoken to Christine. I was interested in travelling to Sydney for a “marathon session”. Just thought I’d post here for some advice and to talk to anyone who has had similar work done.

I’ve had my lower back done. it was very dense but soft (i’d never done anything to it). Mine was very noticeable - i remember being 15 and a random girl asking why my back was so hairy!

i found it very painful (almost unbearable without LA) and I can’t quite remember how many hours I had but over a period of about 12-16 months it has virtually disappeared. maybe mairi can guesstimate how many hours we actually did - I have no idea!

Oh my you did so well getting your back cleared. I’m back in work next week and get the details.

I had no idea the lower back would hurt that much. The pain’s not really an issue for me though, I’d rather get rid of the hair! Hehe.
It would be great if you could find out how many hours you did. I’ve heard that body hair doesn’t grow as often as facial hair and requires less hours. Is that true?

Hi Summercrush., just looking over your record card now . We’ve done a total of 7 sessions treating various areas and approximately 11.5 hours on the back using the ‘maintain and advance’ method. Longest session on the back was the first one , 3 hours with no Elma…

Hi FuzzFace, that was certainly the case for me. Body hair is much easier to get rid of.
