fast galvanic ??

Can pure galvanic (no blend involved) zap typical hairs in as fast as three seconds, and newly-emerging hairs in as fast as 1/2 second?

If so, how might this be achieved?

Not to my knowledge.

This was in reference to hairzapper.com, the section on galvanic.

If the currents are large enough, you can of course shorten the treatment time of galvanic. But that will become painful and possibly dangerous - there are reasons while the galvanic currents are limited, and these should be respected!

There is another possibility to increase the speed of the galvanic treatment - MUCH safer and easier to stand painwise: let the chemical reaction occur at a higher temperature level. Even moderate increases have drastic effects because those chemical reactions follow Arrhenius type laws.

And guess how the raised temperature level is easiest achieved … yes, right, heating with RF. Physicians have created a special name for such an approach, suggesting a special “method” (which it isn’t from a physical viewpoint, but physicians sometimes seem to need that): blend.

Susan Laird is an electrologist in San Francisco. Her website is a bit controversial and overstated (“anti-thermolysis”). She has her own form of single-needle “fast DC (only).” She does not make grandiose claims about having a “secret method.” I suppose anyone could do this. I do not know Susan.

I had one of her former clients last week (back and shoulders/Coast Guard guy). I can attest that Susan achieved excellent results (looked like a “two-clearance” situation). Furthermore, and my reason for writing, the skin looked perfect: I mean not even the most miniscule post-treatment “anything.” I would say that her claim of “perfect skin” is accurate … I have seen it! I now recommend Susan with confidence.

You know, this is an objective observation and evaluation; not speculation?

The client said the treatment was “painful” and she was “slower than I was.” However, what Susan is doing is worthy of note. The client was unsure of the time “in the follicle,” and not too sure about the overall time.

This client also went to another “high profile” obnoxiously boastful electrologist that charged him $200 per hour. This one claims a “special patented method.” She claims that her machine is a “secret design,” made by a major manufacturer for her ONLY … all complete fabrications: I spoke with the manufacturer!

She beat the hell out the guy’s skin (damaged for months), and the results were not worthy of mention. I would say 10 - 20% reduction from one clearance. I worked on this area too (chest and stomach). I will keep this “gem” nameless.

Clients BEWARE! Do not assume that high cost will give you better results! We still have some phenomenal crooks out there! Do your homework and be cautious!

TEST before you leap into any procedure! Never send large sums of money before your treatment! (A deposit is fine, I suppose, but that’s it!) Requiring thousands of dollars up-front … before even meeting the electrologist … is a hallmark of someone who puts money (and self) before client.

What area did he treat that was accomplished in 2 clearances with Susan? And why did he stop going to her if she was achieving results with minimal skin reactions?

my guess as to why he stopped going is cost/amount of time but it may also be because she moved. I havent been able to confirm this, but last I spoke with her before christmas she was preparing for a move to another state that week. I’ve seen pictures of susans work, and conversed with her personally, and there is no doubt in my mind she does top quality work just like Michael says. That said, I cant think that her work with galvanic would have the speed of someone who practises fast blend.I could of course be wrong, and only a TTT would tell us that.

Treatment was the back and shoulders. I think Susan is still in San Francisco, but my client said she is in a new place (and has a room for clients to stay … good asset).

Why he quit? (Damn! Fenix, you are SO LOGICAL!) At the time the client was stationed in the Bay Area … moved now and lives in Virginia. Yeah, you see, Virginia’s very close to Santa Barbara.

He’s moving to Ohio (Lakes) and will be seeing Dee (my recommendation of course).

Interesting point in all this: I have seen Susan’s work and it’s flawless (she uses DC only). I have seen Dee’s work too, and it’s equally flawless (pretty sure Dee mostly relies on thermolysis).

So, there it is. I have my conclusion, what’s yours?

I have no conclusions. I don’t doubt Susan’s technique. I would be fascinated to learn that her single needle galvanic is economically sound method for anything more than a few whiskers when we know Blend is fast and as deadly and HF in properly trained hands is deadly and economically sound for large areas.
