Fast electroylsists in Northern VA

Does anyone know any good electroylists in northern VA. I’ve been getting electrolysis done for 6 months but i feel like I have a lot of hair and my electroysist isn’t that fast. I’ve done multiple three hours sessions and 2 hours sessions without a lot of results. I see some results but not a lot.

Anyone with personal experience please let me know.

I hope it’s alright to say here in this post - apologies in advance if I overstep.

Hi BUZZBUZZ! I can highly and happily recommend La Moda in Vienna, where I have been working with at least three of the electrologists, since late spring of this year. In fact, I am documenting my journey as much as possible, to present to hairtell, later this year.

I also visited an electrologist at Skintelligence (also Vienna) once. I liked their skill and environment as well.

There is an electrologist at Chantilly Electrolysis who knows Galvanic and Thermolysis, if you need modality options. (I might visit them at some point too - this trade is so fascinating (and necessary!) to me, so I’ve been wanting to meet as many electrologists as I can.)

I’ve overcome my paranoia about laser and will finally - this month - be pairing that alongside this very hairy journey.

Reach out if you have any questions!

Thank you so much! Do you mind sharing which electrolysist do you prefer or is the fastest and you see the most results from? What areas are you getting done?

BUZZBUZZ,

I get electrolyzed (is this even a word…I prefer to lovingly say “electrocuted”, but I don’t want anyone to misunderstand me) by Rosie (owner), Jessica, and sometimes Estee. They are all extremely efficient, fast, and mindful.

Rosie and Estee are much beloved so their schedules fill fast; no shame in camping out on Setmore to make sure you can book them!

It has been a consistent and an intriguing experience so far.

Of note: I sugared/plucked my areas of concern for most the last twelve or more years (and there is definitely distortion). I’m quite displeased with myself for that, but I did not know better. In fact, I never knew about electrolysis until within the last year!

My areas of concern we’ve been working on:

Face: I had/have six to eight weirdos between chin and throat, three of which seem to be putting up a fight they won’t win. Or, perhaps not the exact same hairs, but certainly in the exact same vicinities).

Underarms: I’ve had them cleared three times to date. I think I will try a round or two of laser and finish off whatever remaining fine hairs with electrolysis.

Snail Trail: It is tempting to laser, but it’s not a super busy area.

Brazilian: I have had just the top (mons pubis) cleared once, with some successful deforestation.
In hindsight, however, I should not have been so hesitant about laser, because I would have been well on my way to half-completion in reduction of the full Brazilian. I couldn’t make up my mind for a while, but I knew the pain and time would be too much, beyond the top area, so I began thinking earnestly about laser. This week I am starting laser (with another specialist who uses Lumenis Splendor X - I’ll get into that in the laser forum) and will circle back to electrolysis for cleanup.

Oh! Rosie just started offering laser services this month. She bought the Rohrer a few months ago - I got to have her practice Brazilian on me and now I have three or four small bald patches.

This helped at least confirm I’m a candidate. I knew the two modalities complemented one another, but having sponged so much of this wonderful site, I also knew to be vigilant in researching laser specialists who will neither under-nor-overtreat. Ain’t nobody got time for paradoxical hypertrichosis! Or burns!

Whew, OK, that was maybe too much. I’ll have my own thread soon, spreadsheet and maybe pictures. I Hope this helps. I’m glad you found your way here.

No problem … Just just call it torture … and, I’m an electrologist.

Bono! Hello, from the east coast! I hope you are safe and healthy, all climates considered.

It’s funny you should mention torture; I often remind my electrologists not to worry too much if I’m discomforted because I knew I was signing up to be in pain. ^_^’

Thank you for providing such details. I will definitely try to get on their schedule.

I use Rosie at LaModa Electrolysis. She’s a veteran electrolysist and one of the best in the area. I’ve been seeing her for over 2 years for underarms and full brazilian. Just remember electrolysis is a commitment. It doesn’t really happen fast.

Isn’t the Brazilian so painful, what do you do for the pain?

I use Mithra. It works really well. Just apply 1.5 hors beforehand. Oby thing i found that works.

Neysha is exactly right.

I occlude a combination of numbskin cream, Ebanel spray, and sometimes Face and Body SuperTrio, at least two hours prior to underarms and Brazilian area. Turns out my otherwise high pain tolerance isn’t all that for long sessions.
