Facial hair, short or long appointments?

I’m about to start electrolysis on my facial hair. It is coarse, dark, and dense. Laser rebound. What is the best way to begin as far as scheduling appointments? The electrologist I saw today can do only shorter appointments (20 minutes or so), due to scheduling issues. I thought that it would be best to start with longer appointments (an hour and longer, whatever is necessary to achieve full clearance), then move to shorter appointments as regrowth occurs. Wouldn’t shorter appointments just make this process take forever? In 20 minutes, she didn’t even come close to full clearance of my face. Thoughts?

In my opinion, it may be best to have a short initial treatment. This gives you an opportunity to assess the skill of your operator before committing to a longer session. Your pain tolerance level and the healing ability of your skin can also be determined, prior to undergoing an intense clearance.

She did a 20 minute session last night. I’m still a bit bumpy, but as long as the recovery goes well, I feel that I could withstand a long appointment, no problem.

Yes, once you have determined the pain tolerance level and healing ability, you can go for longer appointments this will enable you to achieve a full clearance faster.

With facial hair, I’ve had longer sessions. Hour and a half on my upper lip actually, but I recommend making sure you DON’T have anything you have to show up for after, since my face swelled up pretty badly… but that went away in a few hours… My electrologist DID not want to do long appointments, but I convinced her and it turned out fine… maybe you have to find a different practioner…
