facial hair living hell

hello all i am a newbee and i am at the end of my tether
i know you must get hundreds of people saying this but
my facial hair is more like a mans now i have shaved (with a razor) for about 15 years now and this past year im having to do it sometimes twice a day, i will not answer the door or go out unless i carnt avoid it.
if i shave 1 day then i have to wait 2 days to do it again as my neck becomes very sore and red and very noticable (the shadow) my hair is stiff hard (its worse than my hubbys)
and i now have to use foundation to cover it but i can still see it, i suffer from pcos and im morbidly obese but the doctor refuses me any type of treatment so im just wondering if anyone has any suggestions ( yes i know loosing weight but i am trying to but due to the embarrassment of my facial hair i wont go out to do exsersize )
please help i hate being a recluse because of it

Have you had any hormone testing, there is a possibility that your condittions could be related.

Have you tried birth control? It’s suppose to help with the pcos.

no the drs just keep fobbing me off all the time
and saying its down to my weight

yes they did put me on diannett but because of my size i was considered high risk of dvt (deep vein thrombosis) so they took me off

I hope you saw a specialist for your medical problem. Too many docs just order birth control pills. There are a number of conditions that may seem to be polycystic ovarian syndrome. If you saw a REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGIST, I WOULD AGREE WITH YOUR DIAGNOSIS. TOO MANY OBGYNS ARE IN TOO MUCH OF A HURRY TO GO FURTHER THAN TO ORDER THE “PILL”. IT MAY CONTROL ABNORMAL OR IRREGULAR PERIODS AND PATIENTS BELIEVE SINCE THEY SEE SOME CHANGES THAT IS IT. NO that isn’t it. You can look it up here on the web. The MERCK manual is probably the best reference you will find. In the INDEX look up your medical condition. If the diagnosis was CORRECT you will find ALL there is available on your problem, however, there are other conditions that MIMIC your diagnosis. Also read the package insert about your prescription and you MAY SEE A SIDE EFFECT that lists hair growth. Some of the pills used to control the problem actually can make it worse. It ALL depends on an ACCURATE DIAGNOSIS. HYPERADRENALISM can be one. In that case it is common to gain weight but have the cup size of the bra go down. That is due to the fact hair growth is dependent on male hormones or some other hormones that have a similar action like PROGESTERONE. Many BC pills have a progestin in them and that causes new hair growth. VIRTUALLY ALL steroid hormones have overlapping side effects like FLUID RETENTION. Some have it more than others. Your individual response may be different than most women. Your concern is NOT MOST WOMEN it is YOU. IF YOU ARE OF MEDITERRANEN DESCENT YOU MAY BE IN A GROUP OF WOMEN WHO ARE MORE PRONE TO GET THIS SYMPTOM. Progesterone is a female hormone that has some properties that overlap the male hormones and hair growth is one of them, therefore, it is possible to take a pill for a problem and see SOME (NOT ALL) SYMPTOMS GET WORSE.

IF you saw a doc who is also a female they seem to have a more empathic view of this problem. Adrenals, and 5-alpha reductase is another issue that has to be considered before an accurate diagnosis can be made. It is also possible to have more than one problem at a time. Like hair and a sore foot (that is to make as point as neither of those can be your problem but they can occur at the same time and confuse the real issue).

You could get some help from an alternative style Doctor, or even a naturopath. Biolabs do some advanced styles of testing, (all types of medical testing) but you would have to be prepared to spend a lot of money. Not for the faint hearted, it took 18 years for me to have some complex medical mysteries solved, and cost me another mortgage, at least. It was really worth it though, and I would do it all again. I am an avid reader and researcher, and this did contribute towards my eventual diagnosis. Never give up or give in. Keep trying.

Treating your PCOS will not make your facial hair go away. Electrolysis works wonderfully for this issue. Have you tried it?

Hello . I’m sorry to hear of your problem. Have you considered electrolysis? It would certainly help to clear some of the hair. Best wishes.
