facial after electro?

I had my first electrolysis done on my face for one hour last week and one hour today ( wed. ) . That will be all before i head back home to another city on monday. My partner wants to gift me with a facial on sunday before i leave . Is it too soon for a facial or would it irritate the area ? I need to ask and find out because i need to book the facial ( or not) very soon!

I think it should be fine if the scabs are healed and everything. I was told to make sure you wait at least 48 hours, but the longer you can wait after the electrolysis the better.

Thanks girl! My electro session today was an hour and my face seems to be settling down fast. I waas so excited to be gifted with a facial this sunday as I rarely get such treats ( all my spare funds went to electro! anyways it sounds perhaps a bit too early , and if those tiny scabs do appear i dont want to irritate them so maybe i will have to pass…;( oh well , face is happy in other ways!

I am going back for another half hour of electro on Friday morning because in better light i can see many hairs where missed…I can see i need way more than a half hour to get clearing but thats all she could get me in for before i go back home. …In replace of the gift facial which may be too irritating after electro, he bought me a gift access to a steam room on Sunday morning . Is a steam room alright after electro?

I would think the steam room rules would be about the same as working out after electrolysis. You want to avoid sweating for at least 24 hours. I could be wrong, I’m sure one of the pro’s will comment
There are cheap ways of doing facials at home that in my opinion are more enjoyable than at a spa. Maybe it’s just me, I felt kind of weird going to the spa (felt like I was wasting money and didn’t think it was worth it) but I love having a spa day at home with my daughter. Hmmm I think I will have one on Sunday

thank girl, saddly i can tell there are not many people on this board anymore…mostly electrolysists and though they are super helpful there is nt alof of advice flying around this forum ;( Maybe there are some other active forums. Feel a little out there! Anyways the spa is a gift at the end of a very grueling trip which included a funeral and electrol…so the spa is a rare gift…electro maybe 1/2 hour fri morning and steam room , no facial on sunday morning. is that too soon??

LOL! Wrong! We are watching. Justsomegirl did a good job answering the question, IMO!

I had thought this string was working fine. A question was asked, the correct answer was given in a short amount of time, and it did not even require an electrolysis practitioner to answer it.

While people accuse us of wanting to dominate the board, I can tell you that the management around here likes nothing better than to read the active topics, find the questions have already been answered, and go on to other business.

Andrea is pleased as punch to no longer be the top poster on the site, and I think I speak for her as well, when I say that it makes both of us smile when we see the trend has developed where the day will soon come that neither she, nor I are in the top five posters on this site.

Happily, I am not even the highest post total hair removal practitioner anymore.

But back to your situation, if you need to hear it from someone who does this for a living, do your best to keep your skin clean and dry for the first 24 hours after treatment. We are taught to caution that good healing skin care should be practiced for 72 hours after treatment, for good measure. This means that you could do anything you liked, as long as you did not have active scabs, or any other skin issues related to your electrolysis treatment outside of 3 days post treatment.

Generally, facials are best before electrolysis.
Afterwards? Wait until there is are no more scabs.

The SEARCH feature here provides so much information. It seems to be so very much underutilized.

Arlene, I stand by what i said…notice the words super helpful, but it is true in my experience her so far that this forum is mostly electrolysist’s. Im not dissing you at all its just not so good when you need quick advice on laser and are a bit desperate for time…thus the words not very active forum. I do do a search as well though it can be alot to wade through and I am out of town away from home internet so have limited internet time, not enough time to do an active search and book , keep the appointment etc etc. !
