Eyebrows - yikes

This is not actually a question, I just wanted to share my experience in case anybody else benefits from it. I’ve found so many posts on here really helpful and would like to give something back, even if I can’t give any expert advice.

I discovered electrolysis a few months ago and I think it’s amazing. It has already changed my life for the better. I started having electrolysis on my chest and got full clearance for the first time in March, since then I’ve been having weekly or fortnightly sessions to keep up with the hair growth. It’s so much better. I also have hair on my chin, which the electrologist is dealing with. Because I can see how effective it is and what a difference it’s making, I have decided to treat several areas of my face and body, so every time I have one area under control, I will start a new one.

Today I had my eyebrows treated for the first time. Holy smoke! It hurt so much more than I expected, my eyes were streaming and I spent the whole time on the verge of asking her to stop. The results are great, though, and I’m glad I persevered. No redness, really, but the area is quite puffy and swollen and I look a little bit odd but I assume it will go down soon.

Ahahahah i can imagine the pain.
I deal with my eyebrows using my tweezers. And i hate the pain
But i choose not to do electro on my eyebrows because i love to play whit the shape

I’m really happy that electro is working for you  keep it up

The eyebrows hurt more because of the bone. More painful is the area between the neck and the chest ( I am a guy ) now that is very very painful ! Communication with the electrologist is the key .

Its the base of the spine that does it for me feet twitching and going in directions I never thought possible

you had help from a friend or you did it by yourself ? I can’t imagine doing it by yourself !!

If you play with the shape, this can have unpleasant consequences. The design of the eyebrows should be done under measures established universally. You can choose if you want it thinner or thicker, but always respecting the measures taken from your own features. The advantage of doing this with electrolysis is that 1) You will not have black spots that darken the skin of your eyelids. 2) The eyebrows will gain definition. 3) You can forget the tweezers. 4) The ideal design will highlight the beauty of your eyes and 5) Your eyebrows look as if they had always been perfect.

May 2012. Results first clearance.

Note: This woman was 14 years old in 2011. The development of the hairs in her eyebrows was not complete yet. The eyebrows had not been touched before Electrolysis. She probably just need 1 more clearance in 2013, ie, 3 in total. Maybe 4 if in the future appeared a few rebellious hairs…

Fourteen seems to young for electro. Was it HER choice or her mothers?

Why do you feel it is too young?

Before 11, I had a full blown mustache, sideburns and thick leg/arm hair. If I had the choice in my early teens for permanent hair removal, I would have jumped at it. It would have saved me years of feeling ugly and being insecure.

Also, these days, most 13 year old girls pluck their eyebrows if they need to. I’d say this is a much better choice, if it can be done by a professional like Josefa.

People can play around with brows but generally there is just one shape that will suit the hair, natural shape and features the best. Neither me nor my sister have had our natural shapes changed, they have just emerged by carefully removing the excess.

My eyebrows aren’t at all like the one in your pictures. I have very little unwanted hair in this area

I’m blessed with a nice shape and i never change it.
I usually “clean” the area, but sometimes i like to let them grow “natural and wild” because i like thick eyebrow
So i prefer to have this chance

That’s a very nice shape indeed !

I didn’t know eyebrows develop more hairs with age. I thought they get thicker or wiry.

We do not work in minors if they are not accompanied by an adult, or if we see signs of rejection. She took some time wanting treatment in their eyebrows, since she saw how were those of their cousins. It was possible when her father, a famous physician gave consent.
