Excessive Vellus Hair from Cushings

Hello,

I am female, have hirsutism (face, neck, arms, legs, thighs) and recently developed excess vellus hair everywhere, including my nose, earlobes, and back. I am being testing for Cushing’s disease (a hormone disorder of excess cortisol and androgens caused by a pituitary tumor). I have had one positive test and my symptoms strongly suggest this disease over PCOS or adrenal hyperplasia.

If surgery provides a cure and my hormone levels return to normal, is it possible to have such an abundance of vellus hair removed from the body? Would it be too great an undertaking for an electrolysist? The hair causes me to be hot, itchy, and is and will be a constant reminder of this horrible disease. If I have to learn to live w/ it, I need to begin to prepare myself.

Thank you for any advice you can provide.
