EQUIPMENT

The working table should be comfortable for the client and should also leave room underneath so electrologist can move freely without hitting your knees or ankles.

Table: 200€
chair: 58€

I will continue …

Sink, hand dryer, replacement of paper = maybe 200 €

I started over with used equipment. My treatment tables cost 26 EUR and 50 EUR. BTW: i have been treated on the table Jossie showed and found it quite comfortable. One of mine is the hydraulic variant (which costs new about 400 EUR, but is alway at maximum height)

Covers for the treatment tables.

An equipment car. Or something cheap but suitable from IKEA.

Important: a heat sterilizer. And a lot of tweezers - can be bought subsequently. It is worth investing in top quality.

Vision equipment. For the first steps would i recomment (used) medical lamps and a head loup, with 3 fold magnification (8 dioptres) or better

Beate’s right, you need a good batch of tweezers to use one on each client and sterilize everything together at the end of the workday.

11,21 each unit per 25 units = 280,25 €

And 25 units head for the needle holder, the price depends on the manufacturer’s brand. Dee, I do not remember how much each unit, do you recall this?

Containers for contaminated material, from 3 to 6€ per unit

Bin with hinged lid: 39,50€

That’s a cheap price. I usually pay twice as much.

Yes Beate, the price is not bad and I can personally guarantee the quality of these tweezers.

Last night i detected some interesting offerings from Mercateo.

Anyway:it is possible to start with few tweezers and buy more of them as the business increases.

BTW Michael Bono’s book - also the new one - contains a very useful chapter an maintenance of tweezers.

One only needs enough forceps/tweezers as one expects to have clients for the day. In the beginning, one should have at least 5 to 10 and go from there.

Binoculars to work in large areas of the body and coarse hairs of the face. They are very handy because it lets you see enough field. The focus is fast and you can move freely without losing sight of the field.

The picture of the table above? Well, here in America, it would collapse for sure. We have an obesity problem here and it doesn’t look like it would be safe enough for several of my clients, let alone my legs if the table collapses. I’m looking for a table that would support over 300 pounds, but am having no luck with the matter. The table has to be right for me as well, as I work on some challenging areas for hours at a time.

I have a fold-up massage table that I bring out for larger clients. It holds up to 500 pounds is very wide and a little longer and is sturdy and I can adjust the height (manually).

I purchased the Master Massage from Costco a few years ago for the massage therapist but I now keep it in my office, folded up in the corner and pull it out as needed.

It comes with nice extras like headrest attachments and a heating pad. It is not ideal for my legs but I have been successful at maneuvering around.

Should you ever come this way, visit my office and try it out.

My Capella, with several repairs, is working fine right now but I can not put folks on it who are over 250 pounds. My facial bed can hold 800 pounds but that is impossible for electrolysis. Compared to the cost of these tables, the Master Massage Table is a bargain for under $300. My other tables cost several thousands each.

Thanks, Arlene. That is a beautiful table. I think I would be crankier than I already am if I had to sit sideways. Some of my clients can’t come as close to me as I need them to, so add that struggle with sitting sideways and that equals Aleve, massage therapy and maybe a martini. If only I could design the table, all would be peachy. See you in Quebec City???

I would love to see a table designed by you; add me to the list of prospective buyers.

Yes, I look forward to seeing you in Quebec. I so very much wanted to take those non-credit classes but they conflict with the others that I had to register for.

I will be arriving a day before and staying a day after.

I am also one of these people, who is still looking for the perfect treatment bed. I liked the one Josefa showed, because there was no restriction where our feet sit under the bed. How sturdy is it and is this what you use? Does it lie completely flat and can the height be changed?

And Dee, when you design one I too will be interested. Generally there is little to cater for our specific needs.

Just curious about one thing, Jossie. How many pounds / kilograms will this table support?

Let me guess that it might have its problems with a person of 140 kg. Mine ist starting to get problems - “groaning” - with people around 110 kg, mainly due to the simple frictional mechanics to hold and the back rest.

As i prefer relatively large working heights a would suggest looking at this property. The chair Josefa showed also has a transoprtable cousin. That on is not high enough for daily work.

Alternatively i would also look for a massaging table with a small width.

I have contacted the manufacturer because I want to buy one of those tables, I think it’s an important point, too.
Here, we are experiencing an increase in the percentage of obese people. It’s a shame that the Mediterranean diet is being replaced by fast food and prepared foods.

More fresh cucumbers and fewer hot dogs!!!

This year, my 15 year old treatment table broke. It would have cost over $450.00 to repair it, so I put that money towards a new one. A local colleague of mine had her Dad build her something that I liked - to a degree - then discovered that this massage table had the options I needed.

Of the two pictures shown, I have the base on the left and the table top on the right. It’s made of bamboo and can hold up to 600 lbs. - and there are occasions that I need it to do just that.
