EPILPRO

Hi I live in the Uk has anyone heard of the treatment called Epilpro? Ive had it twice now but to be honest within a few days I find Im back to plucking or shaving. I feel confused, which is best, electrolysis or epilpro? Also Apilus, has anyone heard of this ?

Have not heard of Epilpro. Electrolysis is permanent and done with a fine filament called a probe or needle. Apilus is an excellent brand of equipment used for electrolyis. Electrolysis will require a series of treatments due to the hair growth cycle. And, if you have been plucking it takes months for all of those pulled hairs to return. [LIST]

I think it is a electric tweezers o transdermal.
If it is so perhaps you would want to take a look at transdermal or electric tweezer sections in hairfacts.com.

Hi I live in the Uk has anyone heard of the treatment called Epilpro?

Hi, yes I used it once at a salon in Royston, Hertfordshire, UK. They claimed it worked with ‘vibration’! It consists of tweezers connected to a machine and the ‘vibration’ is supposed to kill the root as the hair is plucked.
I felt no sensation at all and am unconvinced of its effectiveness. They cleared my top lip in a single one hour session. It remained clear for about three weeks, then regrowth appeared.
I am convinced that all that is done is that the hairs are plucked, and nothing more.

I hope you didn’t pay much for being plucked. Yes, alas, that’s all that occurred and I would demand a refund.

Epil Pro is suppose to work with ultrasounds. The ultrasounds descending the hair are meant to generate heat in the hair follicule and damage the hair root. I’ve never tried it myself but in pricinple, I don’t see why it shouldn’t work.

Another snake oil…

Sounds suspect, Wasn,t there once another unproven system, that also mentioned ultrasound ?

The why it shouldn’t work is a simple matter. Assuming one could create enough of this vibratory energy sufficient to cause destruction of the growth cells of the follicle using this, then the question would be how does one limit the destructive power to only the growth cells, and not the surrounding skin. It would also be difficult to keep the surface of the skin from absorbing more of this energy than the lower dermis, where the target cells reside.

You are correct, in that on its face, the explanation of this EpilPro sounds plausible, but it is like the idea of a machine that freezes as fast as a microwave oven “cooks”. Sounds great, but when one tries to tackle the actual problems of making a cost effective unit that could be mass produced to get this job done, you run into many problems.
