Epilation = permanent hair reduction??

Just wondering if epilation would lead to a reduction of hair over the years decades. Trichotillomania (compulsive hair-plucking disorder) leads to permanent hair loss so can I assume rotary epilation(plucking) will do the same over years/decades?

Typically, simple plucking does not lead to permanent hair reduction, nor permanent hair removal. When plucking does lead to loss of hair, it is due to a build up of scar tissue that kills off the follicle. this is more likely to happen in the eyebrow area and legs areas. The face is least likely to have this type of scar tissue build up leading to hair loss. Even if it did happen the way facial follicles are situated, the end result would not be all that pleasing.
