Does anyone have any knowledge of or experience with this laser? The clinic where I have been going was using an Alex laser, but it broke and instead of repairing they purchased this new Diode laser. I’m upset because Alex works well on me, but I’m trying to be open minded. I looked online for some info, but couldn’t find much. Thanks
Diode lasers work, too, but I think they are harder to use because they require compression?
Alexandrite lasers are really good, I agree.
You’re right. Do you know why compression is required? And it looks like they require gel?
For this laser, what I think I remember is:
Compressing the skin with the chill tip has three advantages.
It preserves the top layer of skin (epidermis).
The pressure removes oxyhemoglobin. Oxyhemo competes with melanin and melanin is the target that the laser energy needs to absorb.
Compression flattens the epidermis, bringing the hair roots closer to the surface. Hair roots closer to the surface have a greater probability of absorbing the laser light.
If there is a laser specialist that would like to explain this better, please help!
Thanks Dee! I recently had a treatment with this laser. Hasn’t even been a week so not enough time for shedding so don’t know if it was as effective as Alex laser. Gel was applied…not a fan of that.
