Hi-
I’ve been told by a couple of pharmacists that
EMLA is no longer availabe, at least until it
is re-packaged in a child-resistant form. Has
there been any news regarding this? EMLA works
fairly well for me–at least I can sit through
a session with it on. Could somebody recommend
alternatives (RX or otherwise–although RX would
be best if it means that I only have to make a
copay on it).

Supposedly, it will be back on the shelves in February.

Hi Andrea,
Thanks. I just picked up a tube from
the University of Chicago Hospital
pharmacy; supposedly EMLA will still
be available at hospital pharmacies.
They were very accomodating and rushed my
paperwork through once I told them I
needed it tonight (normally it takes 24 hours
to switch an RX).
