ellipse hair removal ipl

Hi,

I was just wondering what you guys think about this. I had an ipl patch test at my local clinic and 90% of the hair fell out and never came back. So I decided to have the treatment and pay per session. On my first session 50% of the hairs fell out but a couple of weeks later I notice that a lot of them have grown back thinner though. I rang the clinic when I noticed 50% had gone and they said ‘great! it really works!’ then when I noticed they had grown back but thinner I rang them up and they said ‘well, you will only get a 20% reduction on your first session. You will see a big difference after your third session’. I was just wondering what you think and if there is any form of hair reduction out there which does it in less sessions as I think they assume 6-8 sessions. Many thanks.

Hi, the clinic just told me I will need 8 sessions!

I’ve just looked at the different threads and am definately going to change to laser preferably an alexandrite machine. It’s lucky I have found this site as I could have ended up wasting thousands of pounds!

IPL works, laser is easier to use and more effective.

Goodluck.

What area are you having IPL done, heavenly?

Hiya!

I am having full legs, bikini, round the back of bikini (thong bottom area) and armpits. What would you suggest? I have pale whitish skin and black, darkest brown hair which is thick. It’s an absolute nightmare but what makes it even worse is that the treatment you have may or may not work. Also the hair I have on my legs is very dense - there are a lot of hairs. I am absolutely determined to get rid of it - it is too painful to wax, epilate if I shave it grows back the next day, ingrowing hairs etc. and why maybe there is so much problem for people in finding the right treatment that is effective is people who are hairy are too ashamed to complain. It’s a shameful thing - well I feel a bit embarassed about it. But hundreds of thousands of people have the same problem.

These are great areas for laser. I would look for an actual laser, though. While you are looking, find a good electrolologist that can get the remaining hair that laser can’t target in the end. I think you will be very happy if you do a combination of both modalities.

Thank you for your advice. I will post up the results. Many thanks.

If your pale, with no Mediterranean, middle eastern, or Asian background your most likely a skin type I-III which would make you an ideal candidate for an alexandrite laser. Cynosure and Candela are two popular manufacturers.

Coarse dense hair is perfect for laser and gets the best results. Make sure to find someone who is very experienced. IPL will also work, but not as efficiently. You may need more treatments etc. If it’s not any cheaper, I would go with one of the best machines as recommended above. Also, check out 3-4 clinics first and pick someone who is very experienced and is not afraid to test and use high settings. I would start with one smaller area like underarms and add other areas once you see results. You should see shedding of most treated hair within 3 weeks after each treatment.
