Ok, well I’m new here so I don’t know if I made this board in the right place so yea…
Anyway, well, I’m a girl, and I was just wondering what the most effective removal for upper lip hair growth is??? Its kind of embarrasing yea… I don’t have it badly but I still know its there!!! For the past we while I have experimented with bleaching, thats about it, and I don’t like the effect that that has, it goes all shiny and stuff…
I am considering electrolysis or something that will remove it properly. What should I be doing??? I don’t really mind how long it takes (9 months wouldn’t even bother me) but I just want to know that it will actually be gone at the end.
Basically what I want to know is:
*Pain Ratio (even if it varies)- 1(not so much) 10(excruciating)
*Length of time
*Age restriction(is there is certain age you can’t be under or over)
*How to find the right electrolysist person to do it
*Other stuff
Electrolysis is the way to go, but unfortunately, the upper lip is the most painful place to have the process done. Given that, the equipment used, and the skill of the practitioner can minimize that, and you can help lessen the sensation as well, by making sure you are super hydrated, eliminate smoking and caffeine use, get good sleep, and eat well.
To answer the question of how long it will take, and what your needs will be once you have the hair under control would require knowing why you have hair in the first place. Unwanted hair growth brought on by use of artificial sweeteners would not cause new growth if one discontinued use of the offending artificial sweeteners. PCOS that was brought under control would also stop causing new recruits to grow hairs. On the other hand, if your problem is heredity, then, you may need periodic touch ups (which can be done without anyone knowing you still have any sort of problem once you get this under control).
That’s all the time I have now, but I am sure some of the other great folks here will help you out with more info.
Thanks for that information! Um, well, I seem to recall my mum saying something about my dads side of the family having a lot of hair(the girls, but I think she meant like volumised hair and stuff <i don’t know if volumised is a word but oh well). My dad had two other children with someone else and my mum said that they were quite hairy but honestly, when I look at them they are fine, if anything, they have got alot of volume in the hair on their head but that is about it. I’m the only one with my problem and my sister or two half sisters didn’t have it happen to them. I don’t know if all that made sense, sorry if it didn’t. I have a feeling it may be heredity, if so, is that going to effect my result?
Electrolysis is definitely the way to go for your upper lip. If that’s the only hair that bothers you, it’s nothing out of the ordinary and it’s doubtful you have any underlying issues. Most women have some sort of upper lip hair.
It will take 9-12 months to have it done. You’ll need regular treatments that will start once a week or so and slowly go down do once a month or so.
Start researching electrologists in your area. You can run searches for your city or state on this forum and see if there have been previous recommendations.
If you can find electrologists using modern equipment and faster types of electrolysis (thermolys or microflash), that would be great. Blend is slower and galvanic is a lot slower.
Most important would be experience. Upper lip is a sensitive area, but the pain is not that bad at all. You can also use a numbing cream. It’s really hard to describe and it depends on the skill and the machine of the electrologist too. So you need to sample treatments and see how it goes for you.
Make sure to check out at least 3-4 electrologists before settling on any one.
You can be any age, but you’ll need parental consent if you’re under 18.
If I have understood correctly, you tried rinsing, but she liked the effect. In that case, the hair of his upper lip is not being regularly shaved. So most of those hairs that have to be eliminated are visible. That means that every electrologist can remove them all in one sitting. The results in these cases are truly spectacular.
The sensation of pain with a team working to 27MHz is virtually nil.
