Electrolysis Scarring?

I was treated using the thermolysis modality. I used ploysporin right after the session, then made sure the keep the area moisturized with coconut oil afterwards. The area treated was very red, then started oozing water. Scabs formed a 1-2 days after. Now, the area is still very red with scabs.

What concerns me is that as some of the scabs fell off, I noticed that the area under is slightly raised, and there is a red dot in the center (looks like blood under the skin?). I’m prone to getting keloid scarring and I’m scared this is what’s happening. I attached a photo for reference.

You won’t get keloids.

I do think perhaps that energy was used beyond what was needed?

Scabbing is okay. Wound heal from the bottom up. There is a lot of activity going on during wound healing. Underneath the scab it is red because blood flows to the wound to heal it.

Do not worry. You will heal. Mike Bono will “yell” at me , but I really like coconut oil. I use it a lot on myself and I cook some food items with it.

I was working on a woman’s legs and they were really, really flakey dry! I scooped up some coconut oil and gently rubbed the coconut oil all over her lower leg. I used it as aftercare, as well. The client reported that there were fewer scabs and she healed well.

Now, if you use NOTHING at all, you will still be fine. Mother Nature will do her job, with or without you.

Tee Hee Dee Dee,

Oils are, actually, super because they will not allow heavy scabs to form and will facilitate rapid epidermal growth over the wound. Everybody is “on” the coconut these days and results seem to be good. Jars of the stuff have shown up all over my house these days.

It’s “nasty stuff” and nobody likes if, but Emu Oil virtually eliminates scabs and reduces visible inflammation … stinks though, and people don’t like the idea that it comes from a bird … a big nasty “rip you a new one” bird; Dinosaur really. A friend almost got killed by one of those “raptors.”

Highest on the list of Emu products is the oil from Australia where the bird is fed their natural diet … “Emusi” … trade name … highest quality.

Thank you both for your replies! I’ve already ordered emu oil; I’m excited to try it out.

My son-in-law bought a bunch of Emu eggs and tried to hatch them in time for Easter. Not one survived and now I am glad they didn’t. He had better luck with his billy goats and all I can say is little baby billy goats are the cutest creatures on earth, but they are jumpers!

Another thing with coconut oil - it melts quickly in your hand (in my case, my gloved hand) and it spreads easily on the skin and absorbs pretty well.

I said above that scabbing is okay. To clarify that, scabbing is okay for body work, but I do everything possible to make it so scabbing on the face and neck are not a problem. I don’t like facial scabbing, but sometimes there are a few that happen here and there. That is acceptable, too. I don’t freak out about that kind of outcome.
