Hi Guys,
Well here is my story, I’m a 24yr old Australian Guy and i just cant stand the hair i have on my chest, stomach and back! I have been trying to do as much re-search on HairTell as i can! But i seem to get really confused on what to do! Personaly im really not looking to remove 100% of the hair all over, id like to remove about 70% on the front and as much as i can on the back.
In my re-search i have found that i have skin type III with dark corse hair, but im stuck in to what i should start with, is it Electrolysis from the get go? or Laser to start with?
I keep reading these post’s about people that are doing a number of treatments in Electrolysis and still not getting the results they would like?? and even more so with laser?? Im not a rich guy and i am willing to spend a bit of money to rid me of this hair, but dont want to end up spending $5000 and still nothing? As a young guy in australia, when it hits summer and like today the heat is up to 41c i cant even goto the beach and take off my shirt for a swim.
So im really hoping that someone on here that really knows what they are talking about can advise me on what road to take? Any advice at all would be amazing so please feel free to post and tell me your story or on what you think i should do…
Ultimately, it is up to you to decide. With either method - and the age you are now - you should know that you might still be growing new hairs from currently dormant hair follicles in 20 years. I’m not talking about hair follicles that are in various growing stages now. The fact that your body circulates testosterone every day can result in new hair growth years down the road.
Electrolysis can be performed during all seasons, with a little down-time during the summer before and after a treatment. The early treatments will cost the most since you are clearing the initial growth, then clean-up treatments will be maintenance.
A few things come to mind that must be said. One could not spend 5 years doing electrolysis and get NOTHING out of it, unless the person doing the work was really, really bad at it. One could spend five years were one did not do treatments long enough, and/or on a good enough schedule to maximize results, but that would still be more than nothing. The people working large areas, yet doing one hour once a month are the people who get the least out of this.
Any amout of time spent doing GOOD electrolysis would result in a permanent change in the number of hairs in a treatment area. You may need a before and after picture to appreciate what that change is, but it will be there.
Spending your money wisely is all about conducting a search for a practitioner that rivals a vice presidential selection committee (I so want to make the joke that you should not let republicans conduct your search, based on the last two non-searches they conducted) my point is to actually search and weigh one’s strengths against the other’s weaknesses. Often you find that the best treatment result comes from a place that is not the most expensive, yet not the least costly either, and there won’t be caviar served in the waiting room either. You will just get goo looking skin for your time spent there.
Lastly, on the subject of more hair later, you must understand that while electrolysis can eliminate hair you have now, it can not render your body unable to create new growth from skin that is currently not making hair. Case in point, a woman of about 55 years old walked confidently into my office one year and said she wanted her upper lip cleared out. I launched into my normal female consultation mode, she stopped me in my tracks and said, “I know this stuff works, I know you are the best guy in the area to do what I want, the way I want it. I had a horrible hair problem in my teens and twenties, and had to get treatments at Woolworths department store with a Kree machine the first time around. Hurt like hell, but I had hair free skin from age 25 until now. Can we just move into the treatment room, we got a lot of work to do.” I guess she told me.
This lady hold the record for the fastest clearance I ever did. Her entire treatment time amounted to about 2 hours spread out over 6 months and she was done. She kept in touch for 2 years to let me know that she was happy, and still hairless, so I am confident that she is done. Maybe I will be visited by her again when she is 80 years old.
