Electrolysis/permanent scars

Dear IVMI, may i come back to the advice the psychologist gave You a while ago?
My impression is that it might be utterly important for You that You find a way to come to peace with the result. Of course, it will not make the scar in Your eye lid disappear. But it will help You with the scar in Your soul which in my eyes is a lot deeper than that actually rather small scar in Your eye lid.

And chances are good that this will improve the twitching as well (something i also feel when i am nervous).

As to the physical scar: in my youth i suffered from akne, and it left a few scars in the face, notably one in the eyebrow which was pretty similar to the scar caused by Your overtreatment (i actually lost hair in that part of my eyebrow due to the akne). It lasted several years; i thought it was permanent, but someday i noticed it was gone.

Yes, i had almost forgotten it, at least accepted it to a degree letting me ignore the scar.

Summarising it: apparently, Your scar is in a region of the skin where any attempt to improve it is risky or even impossible. So You probably have to live with it, find some way of acceptance of the scar itself (not the treatment causing that scar, thats a completly different story). During Your life You will probably encounter more serious injuries than this one.

Best wishes,

Beate

PS: I did, and i will probably also have to accept the scars in my face, which as You know are more visible than Yours. I will probably also have to accept that i won’t get any compensation for the cost of the physicians i have visited afterward (most of them left me alone with my chin swollen and hurting for a quarter of a year).

dear beate, thank you for your post…i know…i’m in good direction to ruin my life…really, i don’t think that it is getting better, and that is why i’m getting more depressed…i can see constantly some new little pits, or the old one getting wider…so the whole area seems very narrow…i need to find a solution to minimize their appearance…it looks very odd when i raise my eyebrows…it looks very wrinkled (scars appear like deep wrinkles in that case)… :frowning: i just must do something to make it better…cause I’m afraid that it will get worse and worse and that in the end there wont be anything that could help me…and that is killing me…and makes me more and more depressed…
once again thank you for your post…it means a lot to me.

Ivmi,There is a condition called Pyroluria, that causes extreme anxiety, and could be the cause of your eye spasms. It also affects ones ability to heal, and although there is no doubt, that you were overtreated, most people would have healed to a better extent after this length of time. Just a thought, it may be totally irrelevant.

well I feel stressed all the time ,but I don’t think that this is my case(I read about it on the internet…)…one thing that I can say about my scars, they appear shallow and small on the surface, but surface isn’t my problem, the real damage is done in deep layers of dermis…which has literally melted becouse of electolysis heat…so I need to rebuild it with something…just to stay thick…so I think that’s why my skin cant rebuild itself, my hair is pretty deep rooted - I can see it when i pluck it.
P.S. good news - for the first day in 4 months or so my eye stopped twiching  i hope that it will be ok!
i just need to smooth out my skin…or heal it from inside out…
I think that is why the damage from electrolysis is so hard to remove…i think that it is deeper than acne scars…and a doubt that ablative methods could help in my case…
if you have any advices please write!

Hi depilacionelectr,

I got my next treatment 3 days ago. This time I showed her my pics from previous time. Now the treatment was very good no swelling little redness and no scabs but few acne grains that healed in 3 days. She adjusted some settings.

I just want to ask some things from you that as you said in previous post I have seborrheic skin or sebum, i think you understand what I want to say. What I should use to overcome this problem on my skin may be they will help to reduce my pore size also.?

And another thing some times I feel during treatment about needle going inside the skin but I imagine that may be this is current that starts slowly and needle is already inside.I don’t know how to know that this is needle or current. This seems may be strange to you but every time i feel this sensation.

Thanks.

Jimmy

Hi Jimmy!

You should have no sensation when they are inserting the needle. Your follicles are ampliod enough to not feel anything. Sometimes in the central area of the upper lip of women feel is inevitable.
But it’s a different feeling. When the needle hits the interfollicular tissue, you feel a prick. When we happened to notice a current progressive discomfort. In fact, if the needle is not inside the current painless.
In short:
Inserting error = prick = no pain with current.
Proper insertion = not feel the needle sliding in = current: gradual pain that reaches its peak when the current destroys the target area.

Hi Joss,

Thanks for your reply. If I understand correctly then you mean if there is wrong insertion then we don’t feel any current.?

Inserting error = stick = no pain with current.

And if you can give me suggestion regarding my first question about my skin type.I will be very thankful.

Jimmy

Yes, the pain of the current is much lower when the needle is not within the follicle. But then you notice the sting of the needle prick and pain can last 1 or 2 seconds, ie it should take the current. This may confuse you.

Yes Jimmy, the electrolysis causes the pores to close. But, provided that the surrounding dermis has been damaged. I will find photos that can show you what I tell you, but please give me a few days to get them.

I would love to see such photos! Please don’t forget to upload them, when you have the time. I’m a big fan of all your photos, you should use them to write an electrolysis text book/ manual!!

Only if you promise me to be my translator from Spanish into English.

I’ll help with any grammatical errors if you agree to give me free treatment and I will pose as your “before and after” model. Haha

Hi joss,

Thanks for your reply but my question was if there is some beauty product that can help to solve this kind of sebum problem.

And if the needle is not inserted correctly then the hair should not come out with the current.?Am I right. And then you feel that hair is pulled with tweezers.?

I want to ask about the cataphorsesis that is done after the blend and galvanic treatment to balance the chemical reaction and to reduce the swelling.I read some where in this forum that it reduces the effectiveness of the treatment. What you think about that.?Because I am always getting that after the treatment.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Jimmy

The best way to stop acne and prevent irreversible scarring is to prevent it before it appears.
There is no cure for acne, but a good extraction of comedones by a competent professional may be the best start in these prevention measures. An active outbreak of acne can be sent with a good insertion of the sebaceous follicle that produces the grain (sterile intradermal needle), and the subsequent drainage of pus.

You can home:

Take a good basic cleansing routine, you must perform two daily cleaning thoroughly, and make sure you’re always away from oil based moisturizers.

There are many substances that can help prevent acne.

After clean up your face, you can use one of the following alternatives:
1 .- A solution of salicylic acid 2%.
2 .- A solution of benzoyl peroxide 5%.
3 .- A herbal alternative to benzoyl peroxide is the tea tree oil. The advantage of this is that it produces far less irritation.

4 .- Prescription drugs such as Accutane or Retin-A, work efficiently in preventing acne.
5 .- Alpha-hydroxy acids can also prevent acne, particularly glycolic acid.

The advantage of these drugs is that accelerates the healing process of Electrolysis.

Regarding the other issue, try to explain it simply.
Imagine that hair is a light pole or telephone that is held by a series of links that hold it down. To break down the pole we have to cut those links. The post would be the root of the hair. The current instrument that would cut those links.
The walls of the follicle are what keeps the hair anchored, so the current must destroy some of these walls. If the current is insufficient or incorrect insertion, the hair will stand out and you’ll notice a “pull.” That hair will grow back.

The cataphoresis not reverse the process of destruction. Anything in the world except a skin graft that is not the sole of the foot or palm of the hand.

How the two currents work:

Galvanic current:

Thermolysis:

Magical: Consider it done. Only one ticket will cost you a flight to the magical Andalusia.

IVMI have you looked into Laser resurfacing???

Laser resurfacing is not safe to use around the eyes.

Dfahey, My mom’s friend had laser resurfacing and they did her eyes as well. she was knocked out during the procedure but they had put these metal things in her eyes to cover them completely. Of course that kinda treatment is extreme, but if the scars bother you a lot ,it’s not idea to ask your dermatologist about.

Was the area treated the top fatty part above the eyelids or was it the area below the lower lid for wrinkles? Wrinkles in this area are best treated with Botox and Dysport (edited). Sometimes a problem can be made worse by taking action to repair what we think is broken.

I’m not sure Dfahey , But I remember her skin looking good after a while, however the area that was not treated was a lot darker and noticeable. so I’m assuming her whole eyelid area was treated, because she did have a uniform color all over the eye area. A dermatologist will be able to determine if a little bit of the area underneath her eyebrow can be treated or not.

Oh, yes, of course!
