Hey guys. I’ve been suffering from really bad acne for a while now, and in december of last year I started using Benzoyl Peroxide on my entire face twice a day. Ever since, the acne has calmed down about 95% and I am only left with a lot of scars/hyperpigmentation and only a couple little pimples here and there. The BP has made my skin very dry though, but I still want to keep using it as it basically saved my skin. My question is, will the dehydration of my skin be a problem when I start electrolysis? Will the electrologist even want to work on me? Will the results be the same? Any thoughts/opinions would be appreciated. My consult is tomorrow morning.
well by now you probably had your consult and know your answer. A few test follicles would answer the question. I started a related thread about dry follicles in the underarm area perhaps made worse by years of antiperspirant use. I found my wife’s underarm follicles were much less reactive to treatment than other areas. Love to hear back with what you found out.
well, the consult turned into a 45 min appointment lol! I’ve had electrolysis done before and this felt about the same. So far so good, my face looked normal 2 hours after. The electrologist didn’t say it would cause any problems. After I got home I applied a little bit of witch hazel followed by TTO, and then aloe vera. No white heads or scabs so far
