Hello all,
It’s been a while since I posted last but I had asked earlier about what to do when an electrologist removes too much hair and ruins your hairline. She took almost an inch off of the sides and when I freeked out and asked her what she was doing she had promised me that it would grow back.
It’s been a year and a half since it’s happened. Not much of the hair has come back (well just enough to not be completely bare). I had another electrologist remove some of the thick random hairs that were on my forehead. I still have a low hairline but the problem is that the hairline itself is a little uneven and thin, especially the sides and I have almost no baby hairs. I taked it over with my electrologist and she said that we could go up a bit, maybe .5-1 cm and half treat the hairs to thin them down. The issue is that I have a tiny scar (probably the size a third of a dime on the edge of where I want my hairline. I am trying to decided whether to remove the hairs around it or to stay underneath the scar. Sorry for the long description.
My question is that is it possible to thin down hairs? I was lied to by my first eletrologist, even thought the one I am going to now is really good I am still very worried about this. I just don’t want to make my situation worse. Any advice or info would be appreciated. thanks
Also does anyone know of where to get info on how to shape a hairline? All I know is the rule of thirds. Even when taking a whole centimeter off the top I am still within this limit, but I am trying to figure out what would be the best shape and I want to have an idea before I go into have it done. I tried going to an aesthetician but she really didn’t know what to do and she was afraid to pluck it because If I didn’t like it it would take a while to grow back.
Can you submit a picture? You can collect pictures of hairlines that you like and consult with more aestheticians about this. How many clearings did you have with the first electrologist? One clearing should have not have left you with such bareness. Tweezing is gradual, very controllable and reversible, so I don’t understand the hesitation. It’s like trying on a pair of shoes to see if they fit. If you have whispy bangs while doing this, then that can give you some cover while you are trying to decide what you like. Not “seeing” the scar thing you are talking about, so I don’t have an opinion on that.
My camera is not working right now so I can’t really submit a picture. And yes one clearing did thin it out. I tried to cut bangs earlier but that ended up being a big mistake as I have this huge cowlick and could never control them even after flat ironing.
My questions are whether or not you can always thin down a hair without destroying it, if you have a situation where someone has almost no fine hairs whether or not you can still shape a hairline to look natural, and where to look to find information about how to find the right hairline shape.
There is only one aesthetician in my area and she was hesitant to help me. I might just try the surrouding areas but I would really like to find some information myself. I know that not every hairline shape will work on every face. I guess I am hesitant about plucking because I did that once before and not careful enough about the thinning and ended up exposing a bald spot. It took a long time to grow back and I guess I’m just worried. So my electrlogist said that it is better to shave so I will try that also as the hairs will come back much quicker.
But again if anyone has any information that would be helpful.
