Electrolysis is Melbourne, Australia

Hello.

I hope someone on here can help me. I’m a 25yo male looking to get some electrolysis done on my neck (front and back), shoulders, upper arms and back. The areas are quite dense with thick dark hair. I’ve tried laser and after 10 or so sessions, I haven’t had much of a reduction. The laser technician says it’s due to my hormone (???)

Anyway, I believe electrolysis is my only option however I’m struggling to find an electrologist in Melbourne Australia who will do large areas or men. The few I’ve tried contacting will only do small areas.

I’m hoping there are some Aussies on board who can help me out? Please?

Thanks in advance!

T

Hi Tanker,

The amount of clients i have heard laser technicians tell them they are suffering from hormone problems, when laser has induced growth or just did not work is seriously ridiculous.

I am not sure if you have tried Ghitta in Melbourne. If not just private message me and I will give you her details. Also Trudy Flemings ph 0395558613 I am not sure if she is still practising electrolysis the last time I heard she was more into Laser and IPL just give her a call and ask.

Hi S.Tehfe,

Thank you for the response. I contacted Ghitta a couple of weeks ago and she advised me that she only treats women :frowning: not sure why, I thought hair was hair?

I’m assuming you are referring to Ghitta from:

I haven’t spoken to Trudy so will call her. Thanks!

If there are any other recommendations, please let me know.

Thanks!

Hi I found this lady. Not sure how her work is, maybe call her and see what she is like.

Sally Azzopadi T : (03) 9819 3536

Hi again,

Thanks yasm - I will try Sally Azzopadi too.

UPDATE: I had my first consultation with another electrologist this morning in Melb CBD. They lady (also named Sally) claims to have 25 years experience and all she does is electrolysis. The model of the machine she uses is called ‘Blendit’ or ‘Blender’ (???). It is about 25 years old and fully manual, i.e. she manually adjusts the heat/current. She said that it can perform all 3 methods of electrolysis and she varies this based on the hair type.

She estimates that I will need 10 hours for the initial clearance of my shoulders, upper arms, neck and upper back (2 hours weekly), then follow up treatments after that (maybe 1 hour a week, and them once a month after a while). She said to fully clear the area permanently it could take up to 18 months and I will need about 40 hours of treatment in total. Her fee is $80/hr.

Can anyone advise on the above? This is the first electrologist I have met with for an analysis so I don’t know if what she quoted me is the norm. I’m also a little worried about the ancient machine she uses… would I be wiser going with someone who uses a newer machine such as an Apilus?

Thanks!

T

The “Blendette” is a Dutch machine made by Romano Scavo’s Medtronics (the old name) … not a bad one either.

Machines do not remove hair! Electrologists do!

So, you say you called Ghitta and she gave you the ole, “I don’t treat men! <click>” Ah, yes… its one of the biggest reasons I ended up in this profession.

The only way for you to judge what Sally has to offer, is to see if you can get additional consultations and sample treatments from others in your area. After all, it makes no difference what might be available internationally, when you will be limited to your own small part of the world.

We tell people all of the time here that nothing beats getting sample treatments and seeing for yourself, the difference between what each practitioner is delivering, and what you may or may not believe is possible “out there”.

We would also appreciate being kept in the loop for who in your area is actually willing to treat those pesky men, so others can avoid offending calls asking to do business with those who don’t wish to hear from them.

Hello Tanker,

I’m also looking for an electrologist in Melbourne. How was your experience? Are you able to recommend any electrologist?

Thanks in advance!
