Oh yes, of course Beate, I was satisfied with the speed I had with my Blend adapted on my old machine DE-6000 Sorisa, 1400 hairs per hour on average in the leg. I thought this was acceptable until I met the Platinum and found that I could work faster. About 400 hairs per hour more. Then came the laser, none of my Spanish colleagues were concerned with speed. Now all are complaining. The Electrolysis has a serious handicap, the time on the table. If we electrologists we had taken more to be faster and less of warfare among us would dawn.
sorry to interrupt guys.
So how long do you think it will take to get this back/shoulders done going in 2 hours a week?
So clearing little by little will be more effective than thinning?
Any other tips going forward?
In one form of Flash or Blend in a second and a half, you can have the area surrounded by black done in an hour.
Force, You might have a look to this thread: Diary of a European Guy
BTW: even half the efficiency Josefa demonstrates here is ok.
Why only 2 hours a week? Can you schedule longer treatments and clear the entire area asap? That will make your progress a lot faster overall because you won’t be retreating hairs in different phases of growth.
Try to get cleared of ALL the hair asap. Then just come in once a month for touchups.
Speed depends on how many hairs your electrologist removes per minute. You can estimate it based on the number of hairs you count in a small area.
6-8 hours per month should be enough - financially more than enoung, and allso to have some idea about effectivity of the electrologist…
I am just finishing up electrolysis on my upper back and shoulders. I was being treated 2 hours weekly for most of it. Then it was only needed that I started coming 2 hours bi-weekly. Now that it is coming on a year since I have started treatment I am only going once a month. And sometimes there isn’t even enough hair to take up 2 hour appointment, so I am almost finished.
BTW: You are going to LOVE IT when you are done! Just be diligent and don’t give up. It is well worth it all in the end!
Im happy for you! im sure ill be happy to when its all done. I am assuming i have much more hair then you since its not only upper back and shoulders im doing but whole back and shoulders.
Was she clearing little by little or thinning? How many hours did it take?
Also guys, judging from the pictures, how long should the whole back take to finish?
Depends just on skill of your electrologist - if she does 200-400hairs per minute with 30% or less effectivity, it will take ages (years and a great amount of money) to get done…
If you find someone who can do 1200 hairs per minute and 60-70% kill rate, should be done in less than 50 hours of work and 9 months time.
I know you meant 1,200 hairs per hour, Miro! The numbers depend on the difficulty of the area being treated and the sensitivity of the client, as well.
Sorry, per hour of course
Ya I think the process has been taking long because we have been thinning instead of clearing bit by bit. I believe with some emla I should clear on small bit at a time so I can start seeing quicker results. With the thinning and moving in different areas, my skin gets beaten up and it starts to really hurt during the treatment because the power is up high.
I have faith in my electrologist, she is quick and skilled for sure. I don’t believe its her fault that i have sensitive skin both for pain and healing. I would rather have the power high and have less regrowth. Emla should do the trick weekly.
also going in 2 hours weekly…will that greatly affect my results in a bad way?
Here is an example of what you can get in 2 hours and 15 minutes in a large area . In the second photo is the most red immediately after one hour and 15 minutes, to the right of the picture a session of one hour 24 hours before.
The system used was Multiplex (Apilus Platinum), no anesthesia here (even Emla). 360 e.l.
Well the person does not seem to have nearly as much hair as I do. Problem with mine is that it is dense. I dont know how to ballpark how long my back and shoulders should take. If it is moving slow or fast.
Also, If I were to clear bit by bit for my shoulders and back, every time i get an area clear how much hair growth should grow back in that spot? should it come back basically looking the same? if so how many clearences are needed for each small area to see a stable resuction.
Thanks so much guys
You are like me - you became an answer and ask the same thing again and again…
You find answer to your questions in this forum - everything you need to do is to look at recent posts from this and the previous week…
These pictures tell everything about regrowht - http://www.hairtell.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/88944.html#Post88944
Dont forget - Josefa is one of the best electrologist on this earth (about 70-80% kill rate) - most electrologists achieve 20-30% kill rate - you will not be able to see the difference after 1 clearance…
I have allmost the same density of hair like you do - it took 18 hours to reach the first (1,5?) clearance on the front and back of the neck, shoulders up to the chest, upper arms up to the elbows…I have just a few hairs here and there, most of them blond.
If you have done about the same amount of hours, looking at your pictures you definitely go slow.
Do as many hours up front as you can afford to clear the area is fast as possible. Then you can come in to treat just the regrowth about once or twice a month. These treatments will slow down over time. When you get to a point where you’re comfortable with the reduction, you stop. Generally, expect to go for 12-18 months in total if you commit.
As far as i recall the hair density of Your photos it is comparable to or even coarser that the example shown by Josefa - have a look at those fine and densely distributed dots at the right side of the body. What Yo can expect for one hour is the area Josefa marked on a photo of Your back. Or maybe half that amount if done by an everage but still pretty fast electrologist. You simply need to trust her.
@Miro: on the back i worked on i started with a full area partial clearance of the coarsest and most visible hair, and the result has been very visible even after 6 weeks.
