Just over half an hour. I am mighty impressed! Only five days had elapsed. We’ll see next week how long it takes after seven days. I’ve trimmed my neck once or twice, but I haven’t actually shaved my neck other than over Christmas break.

So this is about 16 hours of electrolysis total using a mixture of flash and blend. The last session time was less for total clearance. Sounds good so far and you are doing this the right way by being consistent and on top of new hair cycling in.

Is your skin reaction to electrolysis getting better, too? Do you heal well between treatments?

Thanks for the update. I know a lot of people are following your progress, htky.

Dee

Wow, I haven’t updated this in a while, but am still keeping an Excel spreadsheet to track my progress. I also managed to miss your reply, Dee. My skin reaction varies from one treatment to the next–the last couple of times were not very bad. Today, I wouldn’t say my skin is very bumpy from the treatment 48 hours ago (not perfectly smooth either, but it will be before the next treatment). I do have a few scabs. Thanks for your encouragement, Dee.

Time for an update… Many of the remaining hairs appear to be stubborn, requiring a lot of current before they will release. Like laserhater, I have been getting kind of impatient! I am already healed from the blend treatment two days ago. I hope the shorter appointments continue.

Arlene asked previously if anyone actually finished laser hair removal where no more hair appears in the treated area.

Back in 2000 I had 5 GentleLase treatments on my back (about 5 weeks apart). I had some sparse dark hairs on the upper back, which resulted in 95% success in permanent hair removal. I also had a small, thick triangular patch about the size of my hand above the belt line and that was 100% successful and has never returned.

On the flip side, I also had my pubic hair treated with 0% success, but later electrolysis (DIY) was eventually 100% successful.

Hello!

Well i have posted my story on this site before–i had laser done on my face and i ended up with triple the hair growth onmy neck, side burn, jawline and chin. The hair is totally out of control. I tried electrolysis but i was wiping my bank account away, but i am so tired of plucking and waxing that i decided to make a commitment to electrolysis.

The consult i have is with an electrolysis who only uses BLEND. not sure how much more/less effective that is than thermolysis??

Wish me luck.

it’s a lower method than thermolysis, but some say it’s more effective in killing more coarse hair faster and generally killing more hair on the first try. if you have a lot of hair to treat, i would prefer thermolysis. but for small to average amount, and if electrologist is skilled, blend is good. both of mine use both thermolysis and blend on the newer Apilus machines.

Another update–I seem to have no problem going longer between appointments, and there are fewer ingrowns.
