Electrolysis diary in Phoenix, Arizona

No, I’m so glad you went into those details! Was the cyst found by ultrasound?
I’m suprised that wasn’t done prior. And that’s very interesting about food allergies. These details are very helpful because I feel abnormal a lot, even though doctors say otherwise.

Juicing has so many health benefits! You’re going to love it. I don’t enjoy cleaning up afterwards, but it’s worth it. Before getting pregnant, I noticed a dramatic difference in the pain of my periods through diet. I eliminated gluten, excess sugar and basically all processed foods. I also stopped dairy for awhile and was very much lactose intolerant when I was younger. I can tolerate it now, but sometimes wonder if I should. That’s interesting about the meat intake. I do consume a good amount of mainly grass fed beef and chicken. Occasional pork and sushi in there too…

One thing that’s super popular lately that makes me break out like crazy: coconut oil. I was using it to cook with too and would soon get a rash on my stomach from it. Now you’re inspiring me to get myself checked for allergies! That reoccurring inflammation is not good.

Here’s to us on this wild and crazy health journey!

Yes, I had a transvaginal ultrasound. About 15 years ago, I saw a doctor who ordered a regular ultrasound and they didn’t find anything. At some point I saw an endocrinologist who did every imaginable blood test (they took about 20 vials of blood) and my results all came back “normal”. SO frustrating!

The naturopath took a lot of blood and ran all kinds of tests. I don’t have an excess of male hormones, but all my hormones are either low or my body just isn’t producing it.

The food panel was interesting. They sent a kit home with me and I had to collect saliva at different hours during the day. My allergies: chicken (really?!?), turkey, whey, yeast. Beef, corn and pineapple also caused reactions. The doctor who ordered the ultrasound 15 years ago put me on a low carb diet and that has pretty much been my lifestyle since then. So I was eating a lot of chicken and turkey. When I received my results, I was thrown for a loop. No idea how to proceed. Every day I would wake up with a new decision.

Eventually, I decided to give up birth control pills, meat (except for fish), dairy, and leaven foods. I became somewhat of a vegetarian by default. Problem is, I don’t particularly care for veggies? Lol So, I began considering juicing. I would benefit from all the nutrients and not have to actually eat food I don’t enjoy. Then I watched a really good documentary called Hungry for Change and that just helped motivate me even more.

As far as dairy, I keep hearing we don’t really need it. I actually enjoy almond, coconut and rice milk. I don’t know that there is any one answer that applies to everyone though. I think each person needs to evaluate whether or not they benefit from consuming it. You may find you need milk.

The juicing plan I’m following next week is from http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/. His site is a wonderful resource, by the way. Anyway, he recommends using coconut oil. But yeah, if you are breaking out in a rash every time you use it, there’s probably an issue there. I do recommend that food panel. It’s valuable information and you may be surprised by some of the results but it’s great information that can be used to improve your quality of life

To this wild and crazy health journey, indeed!

I go in for my 9th session tomorrow. I’m seeing significant re-growth and while it’s normal and expected at this stage of the game, I’m feeling a little bummed about it. It’s times like this when an >> FF >> button for life would come in really handy :-/

Coconut oil should NEVER be used for cooking. It is a low heat oil, as opposed to peanut or olive oil, which are high heat oils. I would bet that you could use organic, cold processed coconut oil in smoothies with no reaction.

There is much research that says keep meat and dairy below 20% of total intake. In fact, some research strongly suggests that dairy should be limited to 5% or eliminated entirely. As for the alternative “milks”, one is best off making those at home. All one needs is a coffee grinder, cheese cloth, or juicing cloths, and maybe a juice press and one can make fresh almond, soy, rice and any other milk for pennies on the dollar. I bet you won’t be adding cancer feeding additives like carrageenan, or artificial flavors, colors, and crap either.

I love Hungry For Change, and show it to my captives, Um, I mean clients
You will also like Food Matters, and Forks Over Knives. There is a supplement called Forks Over Knives: The extended interviews. It is a no glitz collection of the interviews that were used as voice over material to the wide release of F-O-K. People like me love this stuff. If you are looking for good info, you will appreciate it as well.

I really love how the bonus interviews on Hungry for Change talks about MSG and it being an obesity and diabetes creator drug no one ever talks about that in the general public. It is like you might get shot for saying it out loud, even thought it is a scientific fact… oh, yeah, like the fluoride thing… you know, the only active ingredient in Rat Poison, but somehow supposed to be good for your teeth (even though it actually makes them susceptible to breakage while causing osteoporosis, because it is antagonistic to calcium).
