Electrolysis: Costs and Your Experiences

I’m considering electrolysis. I have recently found a few Certified Electrologists in my area. What are the average costs for the treatment? Better yet–how are the costs determined, whether it be by body part, or by the amount of time for each session? Please feel free to share your experience, pain or painless and all. Did you have any extreme rashes or breakouts in the aftermath of your treatment?

They usually charge by 15 minute intervals. It can range from 60-110 per hour.It depends on the experience of the practioner and the machine they use.Iam being chareged 110 per hour but Iam not sure if this a fair price considering other practioners in my area charge 60 to 80 per hour.

The amount of time it takes to remove all of the hair depends on how often you go and how much hair you have.I have read on this forum the average time is 6months to 18 nonths for complete hair removal.

Electrologists charge per hour. They do shorter time intervals like 10, 15, 20, 45 min etc treatments so a slightly higher rate. You should first and foremost concentrate on finding someone with a good machine, the type of electrolysis you want and most importantly who leaves your skin looking great, i.e. skill is essential. Price is definitely secondary. Average is aroudn $65 per hour. Prices in larger cities tend to be a bit higher.

The shorter the time on the table, the higher the cost per minute.

Per hour costs depend on office expenses and skill factors and reputation for getting RESULTS.

If one has invested in the top of the line professional epilator and surgical magnification, then they should charge more than someone doing this in their basement with Sam’s Club reading glasses and a 20-30 year old machine with stereo knobs. So, think about that when comparing prices. If someone can remove hair pretty fast, with comfort and good skin outcome, then they should charge more than someone who removes two hair per minute, leaving the client looking like a Pizza Hut pizza for a week or more. So, keep that in mind when comparing prices, as well. This is not like comparing the cost of a gallon of milk between store “A” and store “B”. We do not all offer the same electrolysis care in this business, but we all can certainly remove hair permanently.
