Electrolysis and natural remedies

Hi everyone, I’ve been getting a lot of good info from here but I have a few questions.

A little background: I’m African American with stubborn dark facial hair on sides of face, upper lip and chin. I’ve had 3 sessions so far of electrolysis and after the second one my electrologist switched to a nickel probe, she was originally using gold. This was because I noticed dark spots on the treatment area that are very visible. I also had bumps that were not going away. They were unlike the whitish ones I get after treatment that would go away. Previous to treatment I would get maybe one pimple ever so often so breakouts are not normal for me. I get 1 hour treatment on a weekly basis as the hair is very stubborn and thick.

My after care has been washing face with liquid baby wash followed by witch hazel, fresh aloe gel and diluted tea tree oil. My concern is the marks and the bumps that most often lead to more dark spots.

Prior to electrolysis I started doing raw honey masks which I would alternate lemon and turmeric or honey, yogurt and turmeric. I would also do bentonite clay mask and multanni mitti or fullers earth with rose water. I have very oily skin and this really changed my skin for the better. I’m talking about spots I had for years fading and a glow I would get compliments for. So you can imagine having new dark spots and breakout looking bumps on top of all that throwing me for a loop.

I read on here that I could also use kojic acid and was using a few kojic acid products from a European company called ht26. I was unable to get an ingredient list but they say that the are made from vegetable extracts. I stopped using this afraid it would somehow interact negatively with my treatments.

My overall question is can I begin to use my masks as I have before and if so how many days after treatment can I use them and how many days before should I stop if I need to stop.

I really want to be rid of my embarrassing facial hair but I don’t want to do so by accepting these marks and bumps. Please help!!!

In general, you dont want to add anything to the skin immediately after treatment. It’s best to not have contaminants of any kind on the skin in the 2-3 days following. I wont go into whether I think the honey masks are doing anything much at all, but use just plain soap and water over the several days post treatment.
