Electrolysis aftercare

Hi everyone!
I was wondering which products do you suggest to use after electrolysis on the body. (Right after electrolysis and maybe some a couple of days after). Some people say some products prevent the formation of scabs and i was wondering if prevention of scabs would prevent hyperpigmentation as well. Thanks for all answers!

You tried Bepanthen too and it didn’t do anything for you, right? (I read that on another thread)
Did you use occlusion (plastic)?

Some people pointed a few differences in their tests. I personally think those ‘‘differences’’ aren’t attributed to the cream itself but the occlusion.

So my next test would be to simply put an air-tight plastic as soon as electro is done on half of the treated area and wait several days without removing it to see the difference. I have a feeling that it will either delay the natural healing process or alter it by skipping the scab formation (open to other scenarios too).

You could do the test too if you want!

But to answer your question, I’ve tried several different creams and ice, and none had any effect (except maybe the occlusion but I never tested it specifically).

I use witch hazel followed by chilled aloe vera after appt. Do this a couple of times over the next 48 hours and then stop.

I think the key here is to first know what a scab is, and what hyperpigmentation is.

You can’t prevent something if you don’t know what it is in the first place.

Imagine trying to prevent pregnancy if you don’t know what it is and how it happens?

What is a SCAB? What is hyperpigmentation? You can’t “prevent” unless you know what IT is!

My only criticism of the “cream lobby” is the slathering of products to “do what?” “Put this on because …” is seldom answered in concrete terms. “It helps the healing” doesn’t work for me.

Still, scab formation might impact a specific process in healing … but such scabs are generally nominal in electrolysis. I mean a “matrix” formation is probably non-existent in electrology, (but greatly detailed in how serious burn victims are treated … you can look it up yourself and see why “scabs” are detrimental in such cases.)

Well technically we should be GLAD that our skin repairs itself on its own after electro, but for some obscure reason we need to have perfect skin even 1h after a treatment.

In simple terms, if I understand correctly:

Scab: dried blood that acts as protection against germs and other harmful stuff + improves healing happening below

Hyperpigmentation: pigment that acts as protection against the sun’s radiation

Not too sure about the purpose of PIH (other than protection against the sun, if that wasn’t enough lol), as it doesn’t seem too different from tanning. Is it there for the ‘‘damaged stuff below’’ to heal better?

I honestly don’t care since I have blue eyes and pale skin so not prone to it, NOT MY PROBLEM! ENJOY YOUR PIH LOSERS!!!
