I’ve noticed that a lot of electrologists have had a hair problem themselves, and I can’t help but wonder if it was the reason they became an electrologist. Examples that come to mind are the video on the Jade Electrolysis website that I saw years ago in which Jennifer Deslodges, the inventor of the Deslodges method that is used by Jade, said she grew a beard when she became pregnant. Then James Walker III said he had folliculitis on his chin, and his doctor told him that electrolysis would cure it (I think). Then there are the numerous male-to-female transgendered electrologists (I read of a study that said about 10% of electrologists are transgender).
I have extensive hair problems on numerous parts of my body, and some areas I wouldn’t be able to reach by myself. Like my face. I think I have OCPD, which makes me very perfectionistic, and so if I see a hair that is even slightly different from the surrounding hairs, I get the urge to pull it out so that nothing stands out anymore. I have read that there is a correlation with OCPD and trichotillomania. I don’t pluck my eyebrows, eyelashes, or scalp, though.
I don’t have enough money for electrolysis and my parents have refused to pay for it, but my parents might be willing to pay for me to go to electrology school.
Do some electrologists barter with each other, making an agreement to give electrolysis to each other? I’ll scratch your back if you scratch mine, sort of thing?
I would be willing to give free electrolysis in exchange for someone to give it to me. I just don’t know if electrologists actually do this.
I’m just wondering if it would be cheaper for me to become hair-free on certain body parts if I would just become an electrologist myself rather than paying for an electrologist to do it.
