I actually asked if she would like me to tint them so she can see them but she rejected my offer.
My electrologist uses “microscope glasses” but she still doesn’t see them but she definitely sees more than my previous one who didn’t have any microscopic glasses and only used something else.
I dont know what to do- yeah my hairs are pretty thin but they are still very colored and pigmented and when they grow in length you can definitely see them when being infront of a mirror- I think I will come to her when my upper lip hair is in a really long length in a obvious way so theres no way she will miss it, but its really affecting my self esteen as I actually spend a good amount of money with my previous electrologist and im afraid she wasnt so profesional since I can now compare the feeling with my new electrologist and I definitely think my previous electrologist was plucking my hairs and now with my new electrologist I don’t feel anything! I think I already spend like 7 hours lying in that “client bed” and im kinda losing my patience because I really wanted to see progress at the time we’re in right now.
Any other advice?
Electrolysis requires a very unique and talented skill set, along with good tools of the trade. Custom surgical magnification, positioning of the client and a good light source compliments that skill. If one thing is missing, this doesn’t go as well as the client expects. All I can say is communicate well with your present electrologist and hopefully she/he will do their best to reassure you and perhaps change some things.
I have found it very, very helpful to have an LED light on a swing arm that I can move and adjust so the light hits the skin sideways. This highlights every single hair and allows for accurate insertions. Very few hairs are missed and full clearances are possible each time, depending on other variables.
You must never feel the hair sliding out, like you are being tweezed. My personal preference is to clear the upper lip asap, wait six weeks and clear the next NEW group of hairs that appear. If full clearances are accomplished every 6 weeks, then after the 7 or 8 clearance, you are 90% of the way there to completion. This process takes about a year and then you will still need a few more clearances from month 12 to 18? to 24? This is the way I approach hair removal with electrolysis, but another electrologist may have another pathway to completion that works, too.
Stay with the plan and know that you will get to the finish line. Never be afraid to ask questions, but do be polite always. If you live where there are several electrologists sample other practitioners work. If there are only a few electrologists in your geographical location, try to work with them. If you are dissatisfied, you may have to travel.
