Hi. I would like some names of electrologists here, Sioux Falls, or within two hours that someone has had successful treatments with. Feel free to also list ones to avoid. That would save me a lot of time.
Check on www.electrology.com for names in your area or google,
‘electrologists Sioux Falls’
Did you check the electrologist referral section here on hairtell yet?
If noone personally recommends anyone, the above suggestions are where you can start.
Well, there has been a recommendation. I just need to call and find out what kind of equipment and magnification she uses. I’d rather stay in Pierre but will travel to Sioux Falls if there is a good one there. I’ve already spent so much money and have had tremendous progress so I am really scared to get someone who doesn’t know what he/she is doing. There is somebody in Pierre, but there is no regulation of electrolysis in SD so how do I know this person’s record?
I am actually one of those victims of induced hair growth from laser on my arms. I threatened to even sue the practitioner because of that but we settled when she decided to refund the treatment money.
Glad you got your money back. Way to be hard-nosed.
If they would disclose, in writing, that laser in some areas can induce more hair to grow, then clients could go into this with no surprises and the clinic would be able to protect their interests.
All you can do is go for a consultation and observe. Watch the hygiene part, sensation and healing, however, most likely you will have some small scabs since this is body work. This is an expected outcome.
I’ll keep my fingers crossed that you find an electrologist that has decent speed because he/she has updated their equipment. This would surely allow her to do a large area and get a clearance right away. That would be VERY desirable.
Electrologists need to be speedy and deadly. This is possible with a good set up.
Dee
Thanks.
I contacted another electrologist in Pierre but she seemed so unsure of her abilities. It was really strange. That just turned me off right away. I don’t want somebody working on me who’s unsure of her abilities.
Hi there, Any good electrologist will first of all use the blend method of electrolysis, always. Please do not have them use thermolysis as it is only for really fine hairs. If they do not know what the blend is, then they do not know what they are doing. Laser by the way is very bad for the skin. Think of the amount of heat being penetrated through the hand piece of the laser to your skin. Yikes technology needs much more research on laser. Electrolysis has been around since 1875 and will never damage your skin if a professional works on oyu.
Hop this helps
I respectfully disagree with this poster and would be curious to know your credentials, SusanK. Don’t mean this to be harsh, but you don’t back up your declarations in your first five sentences. On a positive note, your sixth sentence is so very true.
This post is not helpful to consumers seeking accurate information and I would encourage anyone reading the above post, who know nothing about electrolysis or laser hair reduction, to do research beyond this post.
Sorry, Susan, but we are watching out for the consumer on this site and your statements are not true.
I guess I have to say it yet again. Galvanic is the easiest form of electrolysis to learn to do well enough to get permanent hair removal, but it is too slow to be used on anything but small areas. Blend is faster, but takes longer to get good at doing. Thermolysis is the fastest form of electrolysis (that’s why L.A.S.E.R. is designed to approximate thermolysis modality on a wholesale scale) but thermolysis is the form of hair removal that is most dependant upon the skill of the person holding the probe to do a perfect insertion, and knowing how to select the right treatment energy for the hairs being treated.
This is why those who learned one form of electrolysis who “try thermolysis” think it doesn’t work. Just because you know galvanic, or blend, doesn’t mean you automatically know thermolysis. Furthermore, as a person is taught all three modalities, thermolysis will be the one that person masters LAST.
